Isaiah 48:9-15

9 1For the sake of My name I 2delay My wrath, And for My praise I restrain it for you, In order not to cut you off.10Behold, I have refined you, but 3not as silver; I have tested you in the 4furnace of affliction.11 5For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act; For how can My name be profaned? And I will not give My 6glory to another.

12“Listen to Me, Jacob, Israel 7whom I called; 8I am He, 9I am the first, I am also the last.13Assuredly My hand 10founded the earth, And My right hand spread out the heavens; When I 11call to them, they stand together.14 12Assemble, all of you, and listen! 13Who among them has declared these things? The Lord loves him; he will 14carry out His good pleasure against 15Babylon, And His arm will be against the Chaldeans.15I, yes I, have spoken; indeed I have 16called him, I have brought him, and He will make his ways successful.
