Isaiah 29:13-24

13Then the Lord said, “Because 1this people approaches Me with their 2words And honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me, And their 3reverence for Me 4consists of the commandment of men that is taught;14Therefore behold, I will once again deal 5marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous; And 6the wisdom of their wise men will perish, And the understanding of their men who have understanding will be concealed.”

15Woe to those who deeply 7hide their 8plans from the Lord, And whose 9deeds are done in a dark place, And they say, “10Who sees us?” or “Who knows us?”16You turn things around! Shall the potter be considered 11as equal with the clay, That 12what is made would say to its maker, “He did not make me”; Or what is formed say to him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?

17Is it not yet just a little while 13Before Lebanon will be turned into a 14fertile field, And the fertile field will be considered as a forest?18On that day those who are 15deaf will hear 16words of a book, And out of their gloom and darkness the 17eyes of those who are blind will see.19The 18afflicted also will increase their joy in the Lord, And the 19needy of mankind will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.20For the 20ruthless will come to an end and the 21scorner will be finished, Indeed 22all who 23are intent on doing evil will be eliminated,21Who 24cause a person to be indicted by a word, And 25set a trap for the arbitrator at the gate, And 2627defraud the one in the right with 28meaningless arguments.

22Therefore this is what the Lord, who redeemed 29Abraham, says concerning the house of Jacob: “Jacob 30will not be ashamed now, nor will his face turn pale now;23But when 31he sees his 32children, the 33work of My hands, in his midst, They will sanctify My name; Indeed, they will 34sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, And will stand in awe of the God of Israel.24Those who 35err in 36mind will 37know 38the truth, And those who 39criticize will 4041accept instruction.
