Hebrews 7:20-28
20And to the extent that it was not without an oath 21(for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him, “1The Lord has sworn And 2will not change His mind, ‘You are a priest 3forever’”); 22by the same extent Jesus also has become the 45guarantee of 6a better covenant.
237The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing; 248Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues 9forever, holds His priesthood permanently. 25Therefore He is also able to 10save 11forever those who 12come to God through Him, since He always lives to 13make intercession for them.
26For it was fitting for us to have such a 14high priest, 15holy, 16innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and 17exalted above the heavens; 27who has no daily need, like those high priests, to 18offer up sacrifices, 19first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because He did this 20once for all time when He 21offered up Himself. 28For the Law appoints men as high priests 22who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints 23a Son, who has been 24made perfect forever.
