Hebrews 5:5-10

5So too Christ 1did not glorify Himself in becoming a 2high priest, but it was He who 3said to Him, “4You are My Son, Today I have fathered You”; 6just as He also says in another passage, “5You are a priest forever According to 6the order of Melchizedek.” 7In the days of 7His humanity, 89He offered up both prayers and pleas with 10loud crying and tears to the One 11able to save Him 12from death, and He 13was heard because of His 14devout behavior. 8Although He was 15a Son, He learned 16obedience from the things which He suffered. 9And having been 17perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him, 10being designated by God as 18High Priest according to 19the order of Melchizedek.
