Ephesians 4:7-16
7But 1to each one of us 2grace was given 3according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8Therefore 4it says, “5When He ascended on high, He 6led captive the captives, And He gave gifts to people.” 9(Now this expression, “He 7ascended,” what 8does it mean except that He also 9had descended into 10the lower parts of the earth? 10He who descended is Himself also He who ascended 11far above all the heavens, so that He might 12fill all things.) 11And He 13gave 14some as apostles, some as prophets, some as 15evangelists, some as 16pastors and 17teachers, 1218for the equipping of the 19saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of 20the body of Christ; 13until we all attain to 21the unity of the faith, and of the 2223knowledge of the Son of God, to a 24mature man, to the measure of the stature 25which belongs to the 26fullness of Christ. 1427As a result, we are 28no longer to be children, 29tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by 30craftiness 31in 32deceitful scheming; 15but 33speaking the truth 34in love, 35we are to 36grow up in all aspects into Him who is the 37head, that is, Christ, 16from whom 38the whole body, being fitted and held together 39by what every joint supplies, according to the 40proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself 41in love.
