Made Alive in Christ

1And 1you 2were 3dead 4in your offenses and sins, 2in which you 5previously walked according to the 6course of 7this world, according to 8the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in 9the 10sons of disobedience. 3Among them 11we too all 12previously lived in 13the lusts of our flesh, 14indulging the desires of the flesh and of the 15mind, and were 16by nature 17children of wrath, 18just as the rest. 4But God, being 19rich in mercy, because of 20His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were 21dead 22in our wrongdoings, made us alive together 23with Christ (24by grace you have been saved), 6and 25raised us up with Him, and 26seated us with Him in 27the heavenly places in 28Christ Jesus, 7so that in the ages to come He might show the 29boundless 30riches of His grace in 31kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8For 32by grace you have been saved 33through faith; and 34this is not of yourselves, it is 35the gift of God; 936not a result of works, so that 37no one may boast. 10For we are His workmanship, 38created in 39Christ Jesus for 40good works, which God 41prepared beforehand so that we would 42walk in them.

11Therefore remember that 43previously 44you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “45Uncircumcision” by the so-called “46Circumcision” which is performed in the flesh by human hands-- 12remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, 4748excluded from 49the people of Israel, and strangers to 50the covenants of the promise, having 51no hope and 52without God in the world. 13But now in 53Christ Jesus you who 54previously were 55far away 56have 57been brought near 5859by the blood of Christ. 14For He Himself is 60our peace, 61who made both groups into one and broke down the 62barrier of the dividing wall, 1563by 64abolishing 65in His flesh the hostility, which is 66the Law composed of commandments expressed in ordinances, so that in Himself He might 6768make the two 69one new person, in this way establishing 70peace; 16and that He might 71reconcile them both in 72one body to God through the cross, 73by it having 74put to death the hostility. 17And 75He came and preached 76peace to you who were 77far away, and peace to those who were 78near; 18for through Him we both have 79our access in 80one Spirit to 81the Father. 19So then you are no longer 82strangers and foreigners, but you are 83fellow citizens with the 84saints, and are of 85God’s household, 20having been 86built on 87the foundation of 88the apostles and prophets, 89Christ Jesus Himself being the 90cornerstone, 2191in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into 92a holy 93temple in the Lord, 22in whom you also are being 94built together into a 95dwelling of God in the Spirit.
