Colossians 1:16-29

16for 12by Him all things were created, 3both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether 4thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities--5all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17He 67is before all things, and in Him all things 8hold together. 18He is also the 9head of 10the body, the church; and He is 11the beginning, 12the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19For 13it was 14the Father’s good pleasure for all 15the 16fullness to dwell in Him, 20and through Him to 17reconcile all things to Himself, 18whether things on earth or things in 19heaven, having made 20peace through 21the blood of His cross.

21And although you were 22previously alienated and hostile in attitude, engaged in evil deeds, 22yet He has now 23reconciled you in His 24body of flesh through death, in order to 25present you before Him 26holy and blameless and beyond reproach-- 23if indeed you continue in 27the faith firmly 28established and steadfast, and not shifting from the 29hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed 30in all creation under heaven, 31and of which I, Paul, 32was made a 3334minister.

2435Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh 36I am supplementing what is lacking 37in Christ’s afflictions in behalf of 38His body, which is the church. 2539I 40was made a minister of this church according to the 41commission from God granted to me for your benefit, so that I might 42fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, 26that is, 43the mystery which had been hidden from the past ages and generations, but now has been revealed to His 44saints, 27to whom 45God willed to make known what 46the wealth of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles is, the mystery that is 47Christ in you, the 48hope of glory. 28We proclaim Him, 49admonishing every person and teaching every person 50with all 51wisdom, so that we may 52present every person 5354complete in Christ. 29For this purpose I also 55labor, 56striving 57according to His 58power which 59works mightily within me.
