2 Timothy 2:12-26

12If we endure, 1we will also reign with Him; If we 23deny Him, He will also deny us;13If we are faithless, 4He remains faithful, for 5He cannot deny Himself.

14Remind them of these things, and solemnly 6exhort them in the presence of God not to 7dispute about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the listeners. 15Be diligent to 8present yourself approved to God as a worker who 9does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling 10the word of truth. 16But 11avoid 12worldly and empty chatter, for 13it will lead to further ungodliness, 17and their 14talk will spread like 15gangrene. Among them are 16Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18men who have gone astray from the truth, claiming that 17the resurrection has already taken place; and they are jeopardizing 18the faith of some. 19Nevertheless, the 19firm foundation of God stands, having this 20seal: “21The Lord knows those who are His;” and, “22Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to keep away from wickedness.”

20Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver implements, but also implements of wood and of earthenware, and 23some are for honor while others are for dishonor. 21Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from 24these things, he will be an implement for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, 25prepared for every good work. 22Now 26flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, 27faith, love, and peace with those who 28call on the Lord 29from a pure heart. 23But refuse foolish and ignorant 30speculations, knowing that they 31produce 32quarrels. 2433The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, 34skillful in teaching, patient when wronged, 2535with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, 36if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to 37the knowledge of the truth, 26and they may come to their senses and escape from 38the snare of the devil, having been 39held captive 40by him to do his will.
