2 Timothy 2:12-26
12If we endure, 1we will also reign with Him; If we 23deny Him, He also will deny us;13If we are faithless, 4He remains faithful, for 5He cannot deny Himself.
14Remind them of these things, and solemnly 6charge them in the presence of God not to 7wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers. 15Be diligent to 8present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling 9the word of truth. 16But 10avoid 11worldly and empty chatter, for 12it will lead to further ungodliness, 17and their 13talk will spread like 14gangrene. Among them are 15Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18men who have gone astray from the truth saying that 16the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset 17the faith of some. 19Nevertheless, the 18firm foundation of God stands, having this 19seal, “20The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “21Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.”
20Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and 22some to honor and some to dishonor. 21Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from 23these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, 24prepared for every good work. 22Now 25flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, 26faith, love and peace, with those who 27call on the Lord 28from a pure heart. 23But refuse foolish and ignorant 29speculations, knowing that they 30produce 31quarrels. 2432The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, 33able to teach, patient when wronged, 2534with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, 35if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to 36the knowledge of the truth, 26and they may come to their senses and escape from 37the snare of the devil, having been 38held captive 39by him to do his will.
