2 Timothy 2:11-26
111The statement is trustworthy: For 2if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;12If we endure, 3we will also reign with Him; If we 45deny Him, He will also deny us;13If we are faithless, 6He remains faithful, for 7He cannot deny Himself.
14Remind them of these things, and solemnly 8exhort them in the presence of God not to 9dispute about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the listeners. 15Be diligent to 10present yourself approved to God as a worker who 11does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling 12the word of truth. 16But 13avoid 14worldly and empty chatter, for 15it will lead to further ungodliness, 17and their 16talk will spread like 17gangrene. Among them are 18Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18men who have gone astray from the truth, claiming that 19the resurrection has already taken place; and they are jeopardizing 20the faith of some. 19Nevertheless, the 21firm foundation of God stands, having this 22seal: “23The Lord knows those who are His;” and, “24Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to keep away from wickedness.”
20Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver implements, but also implements of wood and of earthenware, and 25some are for honor while others are for dishonor. 21Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from 26these things, he will be an implement for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, 27prepared for every good work. 22Now 28flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, 29faith, love, and peace with those who 30call on the Lord 31from a pure heart. 23But refuse foolish and ignorant 32speculations, knowing that they 33produce 34quarrels. 2435The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, 36skillful in teaching, patient when wronged, 2537with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, 38if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to 39the knowledge of the truth, 26and they may come to their senses and escape from 40the snare of the devil, having been 41held captive 42by him to do his will.
