2 Timothy 2:11-26
111It is a trustworthy statement: For 2if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;12If we endure, 3we will also reign with Him; If we 45deny Him, He also will deny us;13If we are faithless, 6He remains faithful, for 7He cannot deny Himself.
14Remind them of these things, and solemnly 8charge them in the presence of God not to 9wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers. 15Be diligent to 10present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling 11the word of truth. 16But 12avoid 13worldly and empty chatter, for 14it will lead to further ungodliness, 17and their 15talk will spread like 16gangrene. Among them are 17Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18men who have gone astray from the truth saying that 18the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset 19the faith of some. 19Nevertheless, the 20firm foundation of God stands, having this 21seal, “22The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “23Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.”
20Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and 24some to honor and some to dishonor. 21Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from 25these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, 26prepared for every good work. 22Now 27flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, 28faith, love and peace, with those who 29call on the Lord 30from a pure heart. 23But refuse foolish and ignorant 31speculations, knowing that they 32produce 33quarrels. 2434The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, 35able to teach, patient when wronged, 2536with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, 37if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to 38the knowledge of the truth, 26and they may come to their senses and escape from 39the snare of the devil, having been 40held captive 41by him to do his will.
