Thessalonians 1:2-8

1We always give thanks to God for all of you, 2making mention of you in our prayers;

constantly keeping in mind your 3work of faith and labor of 4love and 5 6perseverance of hope 7in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of 8our God and Father,

knowing, 9brothers and sisters, beloved by God, 10His choice of you;

for our 11gospel did not come to you in word only, but also 12in power and in the Holy Spirit and with 13full conviction; just as you know 14what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sakes.

You also became 15imitators of us and of the Lord, 16having received 17the word during great affliction with the 18joy of the Holy Spirit,

so that you became an example to all the believers in 19Macedonia and 20Achaia.

For 21the word of the Lord has 22sounded forth from you, not only in 23Macedonia and 24Achaia, but 25in every place the news of your faith toward God has gone out, so that we have no need to say anything.
