1Now JerichoH3405 was tightlyH5462 shutH5462 becauseH4480H6440 of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478; noH369 oneH369 wentH3318 out and noH369 oneH369 cameH935 in. 2The LordH3068 saidH559 to JoshuaH3091, “SeeH7200, I have givenH5414 JerichoH3405 into your handH3027, with 1its kingH4428 and the valiantH2428 warriorsH1368. 3You shall marchH5437 aroundH5437 the cityH5892, allH3605 the menH376 of warH4421 circlingH5362 the cityH5892 onceH259H6471. You shall doH6213 soH3541 for sixH8337 daysH3117. 4Also sevenH7651 priestsH3548 shall carryH5375 sevenH7651 2trumpetsH7782 of rams’H3104 hornsH3104 beforeH6440 the arkH727; then on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 you shall marchH5437 aroundH5437 the cityH5892 sevenH7651 timesH6471, and the priestsH3548 shall blowH8628 the trumpetsH7782. 5It shall be that when they makeH4900 a longH4900 blastH4900 with the ram’sH3104 hornH7161, and when you hearH8085 the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782, allH3605 the peopleH5971 shall shoutH7321 with a greatH1419 shoutH8643; and the wallH2346 of the cityH5892 will fallH5307 downH5307 3flatH8478, and the peopleH5971 will goH5927 up everyH376 manH376 4straightH5048 aheadH5048.”

6So JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126 calledH7121 the priestsH3548 and saidH559 to them, “TakeH5375 up the arkH727 of the covenantH1285, and let sevenH7651 priestsH3548 carryH5375 sevenH7651 trumpetsH7782 of rams’H3104 hornsH3104 beforeH6440 the arkH727 of the LordH3068.” 7Then 5he saidH559 to the peopleH5971, “GoH5674 forwardH5674, and marchH5437 aroundH5437 the cityH5892, and let the armedH2502 men goH5674 on beforeH6440 the arkH727 of the LordH3068.” 8And it was so, that when JoshuaH3091 had spokenH559 to the peopleH5971, the sevenH7651 priestsH3548 carryingH5375 the sevenH7651 trumpetsH7782 of rams’H3104 hornsH3104 beforeH6440 the LordH3068 wentH5674 forwardH5674 and blewH8628 the trumpetsH7782; and the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LordH3068 followedH1980H310 them. 9The armedH2502 men wentH1980 beforeH6440 the priestsH3548 who blewH8628 the trumpetsH7782, and 6the rearH622 guardH622 cameH1980 afterH310 the arkH727, while they continuedH1980 to blowH8628 the trumpetsH7782. 10But JoshuaH3091 commandedH6680 the peopleH5971, sayingH559, “You shall not shoutH7321 norH3808 let your voiceH6963 be heardH8085 norH3808 let a wordH1697 proceedH3318 out of your mouthH6310, untilH5704 the dayH3117 I tellH559 you, ‘ShoutH7321!’ Then you shall shoutH7321!” 11So he had the arkH727 of the LordH3068 7takenH5437 aroundH5437 the cityH5892, circlingH5362 it onceH259H6471; then they cameH935 into the campH4264 and spentH3885 the nightH3885 in the campH4264.

12Now JoshuaH3091 roseH7925 earlyH7925 in the morningH1242, and the priestsH3548 tookH5375 up the arkH727 of the LordH3068. 138The sevenH7651 priestsH3548 carryingH5375 the sevenH7651 trumpetsH7782 of rams’H3104 hornsH3104 beforeH6440 the arkH727 of the LordH3068 wentH1980 on continuallyH1980, and blewH8628 the trumpetsH7782; and the armedH2502 men wentH1980 beforeH6440 them and 9the rearH622 guardH622 cameH1980 afterH310 the arkH727 of the LordH3068, while they continuedH1980 to blowH8628 the trumpetsH7782. 14Thus the secondH8145 dayH3117 they marchedH5437 aroundH5437 the cityH5892 onceH259H6471 and returnedH7725 to the campH4264; they didH6213 soH3541 for sixH8337 daysH3117.

15Then on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 they roseH7925 earlyH7925 at the dawningH7837 of the dayH7837 and marchedH5437 aroundH5437 the cityH5892 in the sameH2088 mannerH4941 sevenH7651 timesH6471; onlyH7534 on that dayH3117 they marchedH5437 aroundH5437 the cityH5892 sevenH7651 timesH6471. 16At the seventhH7637 timeH6471, when the priestsH3548 blewH8628 the trumpetsH7782, JoshuaH3091 saidH559 to the peopleH5971, “10ShoutH7321! For the LordH3068 has givenH5414 you the cityH5892. 17The cityH5892 shall be 11underH2764 the banH2764, it and allH3605 that is in it belongs to the LordH3068; onlyH7534 RahabH7343 the harlotH2181 12and allH3605 whoH834 are with her in the houseH1004 shall liveH2421, becauseH3588 she hidH2244 the messengersH4397 whomH834 we sentH7971. 18But as for you, onlyH7534 keepH8104 yourselves from the thingsH2764 underH2764 the banH2764, soH6435 that you do not 13covetH2763 them and 14takeH3947 someH4480 of the thingsH2764 underH2764 the banH2764, and makeH7760 the campH4264 of IsraelH3478 accursedH2764 and bringH5916 troubleH5916 on it. 1915But allH3605 the silverH3701 and goldH2091 and articlesH3627 of bronzeH5178 and ironH1270 are holyH6944 to the LordH3068; they shall goH935 into the treasuryH214 of the LordH3068.” 20So the peopleH5971 shoutedH7321, and 16priests blewH8628 the trumpetsH7782; and when the peopleH5971 heardH8085 the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782, the peopleH5971 shoutedH7321 with a greatH1419 shoutH8643 and the 17wallH2346 fellH5307 downH5307 18flatH8478, so that the peopleH5971 wentH5927 up into the cityH5892, everyH376 manH376 straightH5048 19aheadH5048, and they tookH3920 the cityH5892. 2120They 21utterlyH2763 destroyedH2763 everythingH3605 in the cityH5892, bothH4480H5704 manH376 and womanH802, youngH5288 and oldH2205, and oxH7794 and sheepH7716 and donkeyH2543, with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719.

22JoshuaH3091 saidH559 to the twoH8147 menH376 who had spiedH7270 out the landH776, “22GoH935 into the harlot’sH802H2181 houseH1004 and bringH3318 the womanH802 and allH3605 she has out of thereH8033, as you have swornH7650 to her.” 23So the youngH5288 menH5288 who were spiesH7270 wentH935 in and 23broughtH3318 out RahabH7343 and her fatherH1 and her motherH517 and her brothersH251 and allH3605 she had; they also broughtH3318 out allH3605 her relativesH4940 and placedH5117 them outsideH4480H2351 the campH4264 of IsraelH3478. 2424They burnedH8313 the cityH5892 with fireH784, and allH3605 that was in it. OnlyH7534 the silverH3701 and goldH2091, and articlesH3627 of bronzeH5178 and ironH1270, they putH5414 into the treasuryH214 of the 25houseH1004 of the LordH3068. 25However, 26RahabH7343 the harlotH2181 and her father’sH1 householdH1004 and allH3605 she had, JoshuaH3091 27sparedH2421; and she has livedH3427 in the midstH7130 of IsraelH3478 to thisH2088 dayH3117, for 28she hidH2244 the messengersH4397 whomH834 JoshuaH3091 sentH7971 to spyH7270 out JerichoH3405.

26Then JoshuaH3091 made them takeH7650 an oathH7650 at that timeH6256, sayingH559, “29CursedH779 beforeH6440 the LordH3068 is the manH376 whoH834 risesH6965 up and buildsH1129 thisH2088 cityH5892 JerichoH3405; with the loss of his firstbornH1060 he shall layH3245 its foundationH3245, and with the loss of his youngestH6810 sonH6810 he shall setH5324 up its gatesH1817.” 27So 30the LordH3068 was with JoshuaH3091, and his 31fameH8089 was in allH3605 the landH776.
