Joshua 6
Revised Webster's Bible
1Now JerichoH3405 was securelyH5462 shut upH5462 becauseH6440 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478: none went outH3318, and none came inH935.1 2And the LORDH3068 saidH559 to JoshuaH3091, SeeH7200, I have givenH5414 into thy handH3027 JerichoH3405, and its kingH4428, and the mighty menH1368 of valourH2428. 3And ye shall march aroundH5437 the cityH5892, all ye menH582 of warH4421, and go roundH5362 the cityH5892 onceH6471H259. Thus shalt thou doH6213 sixH8337 daysH3117. 4And sevenH7651 priestsH3548 shall bearH5375 beforeH6440 the arkH727 sevenH7651 trumpetsH7782 of rams’ hornsH3104: and the seventhH7637 dayH3117 ye shall march aroundH5437 the cityH5892 sevenH7651 timesH6471, and the priestsH3548 shall blowH8628 with the trumpetsH7782. 5And it shall come to pass, that when they make a longH4900 blast with the ram’sH3104 hornH7161, and when ye hearH8085 the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782, all the peopleH5971 shall shoutH7321 with a greatH1419 shoutH8643; and the wallH2346 of the cityH5892 shall fall downH5307 flatH8478, and the peopleH5971 shall go upH5927 every manH376 straight before him.2
6And JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126 calledH7121 the priestsH3548, and saidH559 to them, Take upH5375 the arkH727 of the covenantH1285, and let sevenH7651 priestsH3548 bearH5375 sevenH7651 trumpetsH7782 of rams’ hornsH3104 beforeH6440 the arkH727 of the LORDH3068. 7And he saidH559 to the peopleH5971, Pass onH5674, and march aroundH5437 the cityH5892, and let him that is armedH2502 pass onH5674 beforeH6440 the arkH727 of the LORDH3068. 8And it came to pass, when JoshuaH3091 had spokenH559 to the peopleH5971, that the sevenH7651 priestsH3548 bearingH5375 the sevenH7651 trumpetsH7782 of rams’ hornsH3104 passed onH5674 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, and blewH8628 with the trumpetsH7782: and the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068 followedH1980 themH310. 9And the armedH2502 men wentH1980 beforeH6440 the priestsH3548 that blewH8628 with the trumpetsH7782, and the rear guardH622 cameH1980 afterH310 the arkH727, the priests going onH1980, and blowingH8628 with the trumpetsH7782.3 10And JoshuaH3091 had commandedH6680 the peopleH5971, sayingH559, Ye shall not shoutH7321, nor make any noiseH8085 with your voiceH6963, neither shall any wordH1697 proceedH3318 from your mouthH6310, until the dayH3117 I bidH559 you shoutH7321; then shall ye shoutH7321.4 11So the arkH727 of the LORDH3068 went aroundH5437 the cityH5892, going aboutH5362 it onceH6471H259: and they cameH935 into the campH4264, and lodgedH3885 in the campH4264. 12And JoshuaH3091 rose earlyH7925 in the morningH1242, and the priestsH3548 took upH5375 the arkH727 of the LORDH3068. 13And sevenH7651 priestsH3548 bearingH5375 sevenH7651 trumpetsH7782 of rams’ hornsH3104 beforeH6440 the arkH727 of the LORDH3068 went onH1980 continuallyH1980, and blewH8628 with the trumpetsH7782: and the armed menH2502 wentH1980 beforeH6440 them; but the rear guardH622 cameH1980 afterH310 the arkH727 of the LORDH3068, the priests going onH1980, and blowingH8628 with the trumpetsH7782. 14And the secondH8145 dayH3117 they marched aroundH5437 the cityH5892 onceH6471H259, and returnedH7725 into the campH4264: so they didH6213 sixH8337 daysH3117. 15And it came to pass on the seventhH7637 dayH3117, that they rose earlyH7925 about the dawningH5927 of the dayH7837, and marched aroundH5437 the cityH5892 after the same mannerH4941 sevenH7651 timesH6471: only on that dayH3117 they marched aroundH5437 the cityH5892 sevenH7651 timesH6471. 16And it came to pass at the seventhH7637 timeH6471, when the priestsH3548 blewH8628 with the trumpetsH7782, JoshuaH3091 saidH559 to the peopleH5971, ShoutH7321; for the LORDH3068 hath givenH5414 you the cityH5892.
17And the cityH5892 shall be accursedH2764, even it, and all that are in it, to the LORDH3068: only RahabH7343 the harlotH2181 shall liveH2421, she and all that are with her in the houseH1004, because she hidH2244 the messengersH4397 that we sentH7971.5 18And ye, in every wayH7535 keepH8104 yourselves from the accursed thingH2764, lest ye make yourselves accursedH2763, when ye takeH3947 of the accursed thingH2764, and makeH7760 the campH4264 of IsraelH3478 a curseH2764, and troubleH5916 it.67 19But all the silverH3701, and goldH2091, and vesselsH3627 of brassH5178 and ironH1270, are consecratedH6944 to the LORDH3068: they shall comeH935 into the treasuryH214 of the LORDH3068.8 20So the peopleH5971 shoutedH7321 when the priests blewH8628 with the trumpetsH7782: and it came to pass, when the peopleH5971 heardH8085 the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782, and the peopleH5971 shoutedH7321 with a greatH1419 shoutH8643, that the wallH2346 fell down flatH5307, so that the peopleH5971 went upH5927 into the cityH5892, every manH376 straight before him, and they tookH3920 the cityH5892.9 21And they utterly destroyedH2763 all that was in the cityH5892, both manH376 and womanH802, youngH5288 and oldH2205, and oxH7794, and sheepH7716, and donkeyH2543, with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719. 22But JoshuaH3091 had saidH559 to the twoH8147 menH582 that spied outH7270 the countryH776, GoH935 into the harlot’sH2181 houseH1004, and bring outH3318 from there the womanH802, and all that she hath, as ye sworeH7650 to her. 23And the young menH5288 that were spiesH7270 went inH935, and brought outH3318 RahabH7343, and her fatherH1, and her motherH517, and her brethrenH251, and all that she had; and they brought outH3318 all her kindredH4940, and leftH3240 them outsideH2351 the campH4264 of IsraelH3478.10 24And they burntH8313 the cityH5892 with fireH784, and all that was in it: only the silverH3701, and the goldH2091, and the vesselsH3627 of brassH5178 and of ironH1270, they putH5414 into the treasuryH214 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. 25And JoshuaH3091 savedH2421 RahabH7343 the harlotH2181 aliveH2421, and her father’sH1 householdH1004, and all that she had; and she dwellethH3427 inH7130 IsraelH3478 even to this dayH3117; because she hidH2244 the messengersH4397, which JoshuaH3091 sentH7971 to spy outH7270 JerichoH3405. 26And JoshuaH3091 chargedH7650 them at that timeH6256, sayingH559, CursedH779 be the manH376 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, that riseth upH6965 and buildethH1129 this cityH5892 JerichoH3405: he shall lay its foundationH3245 in his firstbornH1060, and in his youngestH6810 son shall he set upH5324 the gatesH1817 of it. 27So the LORDH3068 was with JoshuaH3091; and his fameH8089 was noised throughout all the countryH776.
