Amos 7:9-15
9The 1highH1116 placesH1116 of IsaacH3327 will be desolatedH8074 And the 2sanctuariesH4720 of IsraelH3478 laidH2717 wasteH2717. Then I will 3riseH6965 up againstH5921 the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379 with the swordH2719.”
10Then AmaziahH558, the 4priestH3548 of BethelH1008, sentH7971 word to 5JeroboamH3379 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, “AmosH5986 has 6conspiredH7194 againstH5921 you in the midstH7130 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478; the landH776 is unableH3808H3201 to endureH3557 allH3605 his wordsH1697. 11For thusH3541 AmosH5986 saysH559, ‘JeroboamH3379 will dieH4191 by the swordH2719 and IsraelH3478 will certainlyH1540 goH1540 from its landH127 into exileH1540.’” 12Then AmaziahH558 saidH559 to AmosH5986, “7GoH1980, you seerH2374, fleeH1272 away to the landH776 of JudahH3063 and thereH8033 eatH398 breadH3899 and thereH8033 do your prophesyingH5012! 13But 8noH3808 longerH3254H5750 prophesyH5012 at BethelH1008, for it is a 9sanctuaryH4720 of the kingH4428 and a royalH4467 10residenceH1004.”
14Then AmosH5986 repliedH6030 to AmaziahH558, “I am not a prophetH5030, norH3808 am I the 11sonH1121 of a prophetH5030; for I am a herdsmanH951 and a 12growerH1103 of sycamoreH8256 figsH1103. 15But the LordH3068 tookH3947 me from 13followingH310 the flockH6629 and the LordH3068 saidH559 to me, ‘GoH1980 14prophesyH5012 to My peopleH5971 IsraelH3478.’
