Revised Version 1895
Amos 7:9-15
9and the highH1116 placesH1116 of IsaacH3446 shall be desolateH8074, and the sanctuariesH4720 of IsraelH3478 shall be laidH8074 wasteH8074; and I will riseH6965 againstH5921 the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379 with the swordH2719.
10Then AmaziahH558 the priestH3548 of Beth-el sentH7971 to JeroboamH3379 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, AmosH5986 hath conspiredH7194 againstH5921 thee in the midstH7130 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478: the landH776 is notH3808 ableH3201 to bear allH3605 his wordsH1697.
11For thusH3541 AmosH5986 saith, JeroboamH3379 shall dieH4191 by the swordH2719, and IsraelH3478 shall surelyH3588 be ledH1540 awayH1540 captiveH1540 outH5921 of his landH127.
12Also AmaziahH558 saidH559 unto AmosH5986, O thou seerH2374, go, fleeH1272 thee awayH1272 intoH413 the landH776 of JudahH3063, and there eatH398 breadH3899, and prophesyH5012 there:
13but prophesyH5012 notH3808 againH5750 anyH5750 moreH5750 at Beth-el: for it is the king’sH4428 sanctuaryH4720, and it is a royalH4428 houseH1004.
14Then answeredH559 AmosH5986, and saidH559 to AmaziahH558, I was noH3808 prophetH5030, neitherH3808 was I a prophet’s sonH1121; but I was an herdman, and a dresser of sycomore treesH8256:
15and the LORDH3068 tookH3947 meH413 from followingH310 the flockH6629, and the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto meH413, Go, prophesyH5012 unto my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478.
