Romans 8:7-39

7because the mind set on the flesh is 1hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, 8and those who are 2in the flesh cannot please God.

9However, you are not 3in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God 4dwells in you. But 5if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. 106If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is 7alive because of righteousness. 11But if the Spirit of Him who 8raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, 9He who raised 10Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies 11through His Spirit who dwells in you.

12So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- 13for 12if you are living according to the flesh, you 13must die; but if by the Spirit you are 14putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For all who are 15being led by the Spirit of God, these are 16sons of God. 15For you 17have not received a spirit of slavery 18leading to fear again, but you 19have received 20a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “21Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit Himself 22testifies with our spirit that we are 23children of God, 17and if children, 24heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, 25if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time 26are not worthy to be compared with the 27glory that is to be revealed to us. 19For the 28anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for 29the revealing of the 30sons of God. 20For the creation 31was subjected to 32futility, not willingly, but 33because of Him who subjected it, 34in hope 21that 35the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation 36groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 2337And not only this, but also we ourselves, having 38the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves 39groan within ourselves, 40waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, 41the redemption of our body. 24For 42in hope we have been saved, but 43hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? 25But 44if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

26In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for 45we do not know how to pray as we should, but 46the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 27and 47He who searches the hearts knows what 48the mind of the Spirit is, because He 49intercedes for the 50saints according to the will of God.

28And we know that 51God causes 52all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are 53called according to His purpose. 29For those whom He 54foreknew, He also 55predestined to become 56conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the 57firstborn among many brethren; 30and these whom He 58predestined, He also 59called; and these whom He called, He also 60justified; and these whom He justified, He also 61glorified.

3162What then shall we say to these things? 63If God is for us, who is against us? 32He who 64did not spare His own Son, but 65delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33Who will bring a charge against 66God’s elect? 67God is the one who justifies; 34who is the one who 68condemns? Christ Jesus is He who 69died, yes, rather who was 7071raised, who is 72at the right hand of God, who also 73intercedes for us. 35Who will separate us from 74the love of 75Christ? Will 76tribulation, or distress, or 77persecution, or 78famine, or 79nakedness, or 80peril, or sword? 36Just as it is written, “81For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37But in all these things we overwhelmingly 82conquer through 83Him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither 84death, nor life, nor 85angels, nor principalities, nor 86things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from 87the love of God, which is 88in Christ Jesus our Lord.
