Romans 12
Dedicated Service
1Therefore 1I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to 2present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, 3acceptable to God, which is your 4spiritual service of worship. 2And do not 5be conformed to 6this 7world, but be transformed by the 8renewing of your mind, so that you may 910prove what the will of God is, that which is good and 11acceptable and perfect.
3For through 12the grace given to me I say to everyone among you 13not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to 14each a measure of faith. 4For 15just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, 5so we, 16who are many, are 17one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6Since we have gifts that 18differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if 19prophecy, 20according to the proportion of his faith; 7if 2122service, in his serving; or he who 23teaches, in his teaching; 8or he who 24exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with 2526liberality; 27he who 28leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with 29cheerfulness.
9Let 30love be without hypocrisy. 31Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be 32devoted to one another in brotherly love; 33give preference to one another 34in honor; 11not lagging behind in diligence, 35fervent in spirit, 36serving the Lord; 1237rejoicing in hope, 38persevering in tribulation, 39devoted to prayer, 1340contributing to the needs of the 41saints, 4243practicing hospitality.
1444Bless those who persecute 45you; bless and do not curse. 1546Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 1647Be of the same mind toward one another; 48do not be haughty in mind, but 49associate with the lowly. 50Do not be wise in your own estimation. 1751Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. 5253Respect what is right in the sight of all men. 18If possible, 54so far as it depends on you, 55be at peace with all men. 1956Never take your own revenge, beloved, but 57leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “58Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20“59But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
