20The Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068rejectedוַיִּמְאַ֨סvai.yim.'AsH3988allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605thedescendantsזֶ֤רַעZe.ra'H2233of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478and afflictedוַיְעַנֵּ֔םvay.'a.NemH6031them andgaveוַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖םvai.yi.te.NemH5414them into the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of plunderersשֹׁסִ֑יםsho.SimH8154,untilעַ֛ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר'ad 'a.SherH5704H834He had castהִשְׁלִיכָ֖םhish.li.KhamH7993themout of His sightמִפָּנָֽיו׃mi.pa.NavH6440.

25At the beginningבִּתְחִלַּת֙bit.chi.LatH8462of their livingשִׁבְתָּ֣םshiv.TamH3427thereשָׁ֔םShamH8033, theydid not fearיָרְא֖וּya.re.'UH3372the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068;therefore the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068sentוַיְשַׁלַּ֨חvay.sha.LachH7971lionsהָ֣אֲרָי֔וֹתha.'a.ra.YotH738among them which killedהֹרְגִ֖יםho.re.GimH2026some of them.
26So they spokeוַיֹּאמְר֗וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to the kingלְמֶ֣לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428of Assyriaאַשּׁוּר֮'a.ShurH804,sayingלֵאמֹר֒le.MorH559, “The nationsהַגּוֹיִ֗םha.go.YimH1471whomאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834you have carriedH1540awayH1540into exileהִגְלִ֙יתָ֙hig.Li.taH1540in the citiesבְּעָרֵ֣יbe.'a.ReiH5892of Samariaשֹׁמְר֔וֹןsho.me.RonH8111do not knowיָֽדְע֔וּya.de.'UH3045the customמִשְׁפַּ֖טmish.PatH4941of the godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776;so he has sentוַיְשַׁלַּח־vay.sha.lach-H7971lionsהָאֲרָי֗וֹתha.'a.ra.YotH738among them, and beholdוְהִנָּם֙ve.hi.NamH2009,they killמְמִיתִ֣יםme.mi.TimH4191them becauseכַּאֲשֶׁר֙ka.'a.SherH834they do not knowיֹדְעִ֔יםyo.de.'ImH3045the customמִשְׁפַּ֖טmish.PatH4941of the godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.”
27Then the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֜וּר'a.ShurH804commandedוַיְצַ֨וvay.TzavH6680,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559, “Takeהֹלִ֤יכוּho.Li.khuH1980thereH8033oneאֶחָ֤ד'e.ChadH259of the priestsמֵהַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙me.ha.ko.ha.NimH3548whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834you carriedH1540awayH1540intoexileהִגְלִיתֶ֣םhig.li.TemH1540and lethim goוְיֵלְכ֖וּve.ye.le.KhuH1980and liveוְיֵ֣שְׁבוּve.Ye.she.vuH3427thereH8033;and let him teachוְיֹרֵ֕םve.yo.RemH3384them the customמִשְׁפַּ֖טmish.PatH4941of the godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.”
