1When Athaliahוַֽעֲתַלְיָה֙va.'a.tal.YahH6271the motherאֵ֣ם'emH517of Ahaziahאֲחַזְיָ֔הוּ'a.chaz.Ya.huH274sawרָאֲתָ֖הra.'a.tahH7200that her sonבְּנָ֑הּbe.NahH1121was deadמֵ֣תmetH4191,she roseוַתָּ֙קָם֙va.Ta.komH6965and destroyedוַתְּאַבֵּ֔דva.te.'a.BedH6allכָּל־kol-H3605the royalהַמַּמְלָכָֽה׃ha.mam.la.KhahH4467offspringזֶ֥רַעZe.ra'H2233.

2But Jehoshebaיְהוֹשֶׁ֣בַעye.ho.She.va'H3089,the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ־ha.Me.lekh-H4428Joramי֠וֹרָםYo.romH3141,sisterאֲח֨וֹת'a.ChotH269of Ahaziahאֲחַזְיָ֜הוּ'a.chaz.Ya.huH274,tookוַתִּקַּ֣חva.ti.KachH3947JoashH3060the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Ahaziahאֲחַזְיָ֗ה'a.chaz.YahH274and stoleוַתִּגְנֹ֤בva.tig.NoH1589him from amongמִתּ֤וֹךְmi.TokhH8432the king’sהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428sonsבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121who were being putהַמּ֣וּמָתִ֔יםha.ma.mo.timH4191to deathהוּמָֽת׃hu.MatH4191,and placedH5641him and his nurseמֵינִקְתּ֖וֹmei.nik.ToH3243in the bedroomבַּחֲדַ֣ר הַמִּטּ֑וֹתba.cha.Dar ha.mi.TotH2315 H4296.So they hidH5641him from Athaliahעֲתַלְיָ֖הוּ'a.tal.Ya.huH6271,and he was not putH4191to deathH4191.

3So he was hiddenמִתְחַבֵּ֖אmit.cha.Be'H2244with her in the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068sixשֵׁ֣שׁsheshH8337yearsשָׁנִ֑יםsha.NimH8141,while Athaliahוַעֲתַלְיָ֖הva.'a.tal.YahH6271was reigningמֹלֶ֥כֶתmo.Le.khetH4427overעַל־'al-H5921the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ פha.'A.retzH776.

4Now in the seventhהַ֠שְּׁבִיעִיתHa.she.vi.'itH7637yearוּבַשָּׁנָ֣הu.va.sha.NahH8141Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֜עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077sentשָׁלַ֨חsha.LachH7971and broughtוַיִּקַּ֣ח׀vai.yi.KachH3947the captainsשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of hundredsהַמֵּא֗וֹתha.me.yotH3967ofthe Caritesלַכָּרִי֙la.ka.RiH3746and of theguardוְלָ֣רָצִ֔יםve.La.ra.TzimH7323,and broughtוַיָּבֵ֥אvai.ya.Ve'H935them to him in the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.Then he madeוַיִּכְרֹת֩vai.yikh.RotH3772a covenantבְּרִ֜יתbe.RitH1285with them and putH7650them underH7650oathוַיַּשְׁבַּ֤עvai.yash.Ba'H7650in the houseבְּבֵ֣יתbe.VeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and showedוַיַּ֥רְאvai.Yar'H7200them the king’sהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428sonבֶּן־ben-H1121.

5He commandedוַיְצַוֵּ֣םvay.tza.VemH6680them, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Thisזֶ֥הzehH2088is the thingהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697that you shall doתַּעֲשׂ֑וּןta.'a.SunH6213:one thirdהַשְּׁלִשִׁ֤יתha.she.li.ShitH7992of you, who comeבָּאֵ֣יba.'EiH935in on the sabbathהַשַּׁבָּ֔תha.sha.BatH7676and keepוְשֹׁ֣מְרֵ֔יve.Sho.me.ReiH8104watchמִשְׁמֶ֖רֶתmish.Me.retH4931over the king’sהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004

6(one thirdוְהַשְּׁלִשִׁית֙ve.ha.she.li.ShitH7992also shall beat the gateבְּשַׁ֣עַרbe.Sha.'arH8179Surס֔וּרSurH5495,and one thirdוְהַשְּׁלִשִׁ֥יתve.ha.she.li.ShitH7992at the gateבַּשַּׁ֖עַרba.Sha.'arH8179behindאַחַ֣ר'a.CharH310theguardsהָרָצִ֑יםha.ra.TzimH7323),shall keepוּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֛םu.she.mar.TemH8104watchמִשְׁמֶ֥רֶתmish.Me.retH4931over the houseהַבַּ֖יִתha.Ba.yitH1004for defenseמַסָּֽח׃ma.SachH4535.

7Twoוּשְׁתֵּ֤יu.she.TeiH8147partsהַיָּדוֹת֙hai.ya.dOtH3027of you, evenallכֹּ֖לkolH3605who goיֹצְאֵ֣יyo.tze.'EiH3318out on the sabbathהַשַּׁבָּ֑תha.sha.BatH7676,shall also keepוְשָֽׁמְר֛וּve.sha.me.RuH8104watchמִשְׁמֶ֥רֶתmish.Me.retH4931over the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068for the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428.
