36Therefore thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068;Behold, I will pleadרָב֙ravH7378thy causeרִיבֵ֔ךְri.VekhH7379,and take vengeanceוְנִקַּמְתִּ֖יve.ni.kam.TiH5358for theeנִקְמָתֵ֑ךְnik.ma.TekhH5360;and I will dry upוְהַחֲרַבְתִּי֙ve.ha.cha.rav.TiH2717her seaיַמָּ֔הּya.MahH3220,and make her springsמְקוֹרָֽהּ׃me.ko.RahH4726dryוְהֹבַשְׁתִּ֖יve.hoash.TiH3001.

37And Babylonבָבֶ֨ל׀va.VelH894shall become heapsלְגַלִּ֧ים׀le.ga.LimH1530,a dwellingplaceמְעוֹן־me.'on-H4583for dragonsתַּנִּ֛יםta.NimH8577,an astonishmentשַׁמָּ֥הsha.MahH8047,and an hissingוּשְׁרֵקָ֖הu.she.re.KahH8322,without an inhabitantיוֹשֵֽׁב׃yo.ShevH3427.

38They shall roarיִשְׁאָ֑גוּyish.'A.guH7580togetherיַחְדָּ֖וyach.DavH3162like lionsכַּכְּפִרִ֣יםka.ke.fi.RimH3715:they shall yellנָעֲר֖וּna.'a.RuH5286as lions’אֲרָיֽוֹת׃'a.ra.YotH738whelpsכְּגוֹרֵ֥יke.go.ReiH1484.

39In their heatH2527I will makeאָשִׁ֣ית'a.ShitH7896their feastsמִשְׁתֵּיהֶ֗םmish.tei.HemH4960,and I will make them drunkenוְהִשְׁכַּרְתִּים֙ve.hish.kar.TimH7937,that they may rejoiceיַעֲלֹ֔זוּya.'a.Lo.zuH5937,and sleepוְיָשְׁנ֥וּve.ya.she.NuH3462a perpetualעוֹלָ֖םo.LamH5769sleepשְׁנַת־she.nat-H8142,and not wakeיָקִ֑יצוּya.Ki.tzuH6974,saithנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

40I will bring them downאֽוֹרִידֵ֖ם'o.ri.DemH3381like lambsכְּכָרִ֣יםke.kha.RimH3733to the slaughterלִטְב֑וֹחַlit.Vo.achH2873,like ramsכְּאֵילִ֖יםke.'ei.LimH352with he goatsעַתּוּדִֽים׃'a.tu.DimH6260.

41How is Sheshachשֵׁשַׁ֔ךְshe.ShakhH8347takenנִלְכְּדָ֣הnil.ke.DahH3920!and how is the praiseתְּהִלַּ֣תte.hi.LatH8416of the whole earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776surprisedוַתִּתָּפֵ֖שׂva.ti.ta.FesH8610!how is Babylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894become an astonishmentלְשַׁמָּ֛הle.sha.MahH8047among the nationsבַּגּוֹיִֽם׃ba.go.YimH1471!

42The seaהַיָּ֑םhai.YamH3220is come upעָלָ֥ה'a.LahH5927upon Babylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894:she is coveredנִכְסָֽתָה׃nikh.Sa.tahH3680with the multitudeבַּהֲמ֥וֹןba.ha.MonH1995of the wavesגַּלָּ֖יוga.LavH1530thereof.
