37Babylonבָבֶ֨ל׀va.VelH894will becomeוְהָיְתָה֩ve.ha.ye.TahH1961a heap of rubbleלְגַלִּ֧ים׀le.ga.LimH1530,a hauntמְעוֹן־me.'on-H4583for jackalsתַּנִּ֛יםta.NimH8577,an object of horrorשַׁמָּ֥הsha.MahH8047and scornוּשְׁרֵקָ֖הu.she.re.KahH8322,withoutמֵאֵ֥יןme.'EinH369inhabitantיוֹשֵֽׁב׃yo.ShevH3427.

38They will roarיִשְׁאָ֑גוּyish.'A.guH7580togetherיַחְדָּ֖וyach.DavH3162like young lionsכַּכְּפִרִ֣יםka.ke.fi.RimH3715;they will growlנָעֲר֖וּna.'a.RuH5286like lionאֲרָיֽוֹת׃'a.ra.YotH738cubsכְּגוֹרֵ֥יke.go.ReiH1484.

39While they are flushed with heatבְּחֻמָּ֞םbe.chu.MamH2552,I will serveאָשִׁ֣ית'a.ShitH7896themאֶת־'et-H853a feastמִשְׁתֵּיהֶ֗םmish.tei.HemH4960,and I will make them drunkוְהִשְׁכַּרְתִּים֙ve.hish.kar.TimH7937so thatלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616they may revelיַעֲלֹ֔זוּya.'a.Lo.zuH5937;then they will fall asleepוְיָשְׁנ֥וּ שְׁנַת־ve.ya.she.Nu she.nat-H3462 H8142foreverעוֹלָ֖םo.LamH5769and neverוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808wake upיָקִ֑יצוּya.Ki.tzuH6974,declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

40I will bring them downאֽוֹרִידֵ֖ם'o.ri.DemH3381like lambsכְּכָרִ֣יםke.kha.RimH3733to the slaughterלִטְב֑וֹחַlit.Vo.achH2873,like ramsכְּאֵילִ֖יםke.'ei.LimH352withעִם־'im-H5973male goatsעַתּוּדִֽים׃'a.tu.DimH6260.

41Howאֵ֚יךְ'eikhH349Sheshachשֵׁשַׁ֔ךְshe.ShakhH8347has been capturedנִלְכְּדָ֣הnil.ke.DahH3920!The praiseתְּהִלַּ֣תte.hi.LatH8416of allכָּל־kol-H3605the earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776has been seizedוַתִּתָּפֵ֖שׂva.ti.ta.FesH8610.Whatאֵ֣יךְ'eikhH349a horrorלְשַׁמָּ֛הle.sha.MahH8047Babylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894has becomeהָיְתָ֧הha.ye.TahH1961among the nationsבַּגּוֹיִֽם׃ba.go.YimH1471!
