Kings 16:8-20
In the twenty-sixthH6242H8337 yearH8141 of Asa’sH609 reignH4428 over JudahH3063, ElahH425 sonH1121 of BaashaH1201 became kingH4427 ofH5921 IsraelH3478, and he reigned in TirzahH8656 two yearsH8141.
However, while ElahH1931 was in TirzahH8656 getting drunkH8354H7910 in the houseH1004 of ArzaH777 the stewardH5921 of his householdH1004 there, Elah’s servantH5650 ZimriH2174, the commanderH8269 of halfH4276 his chariotsH7393, conspiredH7194 against himH5921. 10So in the twenty-seventhH6242H7651 yearH8141 of Asa’sH609 reignH4428 over JudahH3063, ZimriH2174 went inH935, struck Elah downH5221, and killed himH4191. And Zimri reignedH4427 in his placeH8478.
As soon asH1961 Zimri began to reignH4427 and was seatedH3427 onH5921 the throneH3678, he struck downH5221 the entireH3605 householdH1004 of BaashaH1201. He did notH3808 leaveH7604 a single maleH8366H7023, whether a kinsmanH1350 or friendH7453. 12So ZimriH2174 destroyedH8045 the entireH3605 householdH1004 of BaashaH1201, according to the wordH1697 thatH834 the LORDH3068 had spokenH1696 againstH413 BaashaH1201 throughH3027 JehuH3058 the prophetH5030. 13This happened because ofH413 allH3605 the sinsH2403 BaashaH1201 and his sonH1121 ElahH425 had committedH2398 and had caused IsraelH3478 to commitH2398, provokingH3707 the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of Israel, to angerH3478 with their worthless idolsH1892.
As for the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of ElahH425, along with allH3605 his accomplishmentsH834H6213, are theyH1992 notH3808 writtenH3789 inH5921 the BookH5612 of the ChroniclesH1697H3117 of the KingsH4428 of IsraelH3478?
In the twenty-seventhH6242H7651H8141 yearH8141 of Asa’sH609 reignH4428 over JudahH3063, ZimriH2174 reignedH4427 in TirzahH8656 for sevenH7651 daysH3117. Now the troopsH5971 were encampedH2583 againstH5921 GibbethonH1405 of the PhilistinesH6430, 16and the peopleH5971 in the campH2583H559 heardH8085 that ZimriH2174 had conspiredH7194 against the kingH4428 andH1571 struck him downH5221. So there in the campH4264 that veryH1931 dayH3117, allH3605 IsraelH3478 proclaimed OmriH6018, the commanderH8269 of the armyH6635, kingH4427 overH5921 IsraelH3478.
Then OmriH6018 andH5973 allH3605 the IsraelitesH3478 marched upH5927 from GibbethonH1405 and besiegedH6696H5921 TirzahH8656. 18When ZimriH2174 sawH7200 thatH3588 the cityH5892 was capturedH3920, he enteredH935H413 the citadelH759 of the royalH4428 palaceH1004 and burned it downH8313H784 upon himselfH5921. So he diedH4191 19because ofH5921 the sinsH2403 he had committedH2398, doingH6213 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068 and followingH1980 the exampleH1870 of JeroboamH3379 and the sinH2403 he had committedH6213 and had caused IsraelH3478 to commitH2398.
As for the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of ZimriH2174 and the treasonH7195 he committedH7194, are theyH1992 notH3808 writtenH3789 inH5921 the BookH5612 of the ChroniclesH1697H3117 of the KingsH4428 of IsraelH3478?
