1 Chronicles 9:17-27
17These were the gatekeepersH7778: ShallumH7967, AkkubH6126, TalmonH2929, AhimanH289, and their relativesH251. 18ShallumH7967 was their chiefH7218; he was previously stationed at the King’sH4428 GateH8179 on the east sideH4217. TheseH1992 were the gatekeepersH7778 from the campH4264 of the LevitesH1121H3878. 19ShallumH7967 sonH1121 of KoreH6981, the sonH1121 of EbiasaphH43,1 the sonH1121 of KorahH7141, and his relativesH251 from the KorahitesH1H1004H7145 were assigned to guardH8104 the thresholdsH5592 of the TentH168, just as their fathersH1H5921 had been assigned toH5921H4399H5656 guardH8104 the entranceH3996 to the dwellingH4264 of the LORDH3068. 20In earlier timesH6440 PhinehasH6372 sonH1121 of EleazarH499 had beenH1961 in chargeH5057 ofH5921 the gatekeepers, and the LORDH3068 was with himH5973. 21ZechariahH2148 sonH1121 of MeshelemiahH4920 was the gatekeeperH7778 at the entranceH6607 to the TentH168 of MeetingH4150. 22The numberH3605 of those chosenH1305 to be gatekeepersH7778 at the thresholdsH5592 was 212H3967H8147H6240. TheyH1992 were registered by genealogyH3187 in their villagesH2691. DavidH1732 and SamuelH8050 the seerH7203 had appointedH3245 themH1992 to their positions of trustH530.
23So theyH1992 and their descendantsH1121 were assigned toH5921 guardH4931 the gatesH8179 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068—the houseH1004 called the TentH168. 24The gatekeepersH7778 were stationedH1961 on the fourH702 sidesH7307: eastH4217, westH3220, northH6828, and southH5045. 25Their relativesH251 cameH935 from their villagesH2691 at fixed timesH6256H413 to serve withH5973 themH428 for seven-day periodsH7651H3117. 26ButH3588H530 the fourH702 chiefH1368 gatekeepersH7778H1992, whoH1992 were LevitesH3881, wereH1961 entrusted withH5921 the roomsH3957H5921 and the treasuriesH214 of the houseH1004 of GodH430. 27They would spend the nightH3885 stationed aroundH5439 the houseH1004 of GodH430, becauseH3588 theyH5921 were responsible for guarding itH4931H1992H5921 and opening itH4668 every morningH1242.
