Context of Exodus 6:24
22The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri. 23And Aaron married Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph. These were the clans of the Korahites. 25Aaron’s son Eleazar married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These were the heads of the Levite families by their clans. 26It was this Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, “Bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their divisions.”

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 14-30Verses 14-30 Moses and Aaron were Israelites; raised up unto them of their brethren, as Christ also should be, who was to be the Prophet and Priest, the Redeemer and Lawgiver of the people of Israel. Moses returns to his narrative, and repeats the charge God had given him to deliver his message to Pharaoh, and his objection against it. Those who have spoken unadvisedly with their lips ought to reflect upon it with regret, as Moses seems to do here…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 20-25The list of ancestors now focuses on the descendants of Kohath. It gives more detail about two family lines: Aaron, the son of Amram, and Korah, the son of Izhar (6:23–24). It then names one of Aaron’s sons, Eleazar (6:25). The main focus is Aaron’s line through Eleazar, who later received the high priesthood. Aaron and Korah were cousins. This family connection helps explain why Aaron’s appointment as high priest caused strong resentment in Korah (see…Read the comment

Both of them were commissioned to act so important a part in the events transacted in the court of Egypt and afterwards elevated to so high offices in the government and Church of God, that it was of the utmost importance that their…Read the comment
