1וַיְהִ֗יvay.HiH1961Whenכַּאֲשֶׁ֤רka.'a.SherH834the wallהַחוֹמָ֔הha.cho.MahH2346had been rebuiltנִבְנְתָה֙niv.ne.TahH1129and I had set the doorsהַדְּלָת֑וֹתha.de.la.TotH1817in placeוָאַעֲמִ֖ידva.'a.'a.MidH5975,the gatekeepersהַשּׁוֹעֲרִ֥יםha.sho.'a.RimH7778,singersוְהַמְשֹׁרְרִ֖יםve.ham.sho.re.RimH7891,and Levitesוְהַלְוִיִּֽם׃ve.hal.vi.YimH3881were appointedוַיִּפָּֽקְד֛וּvai.yi.Pa.ke.DuH6485.

2Then I put my brotherאָחִ֗י'a.ChiH251אֶת־'et-H853Hananiחֲנָ֣נִיcha.Na.niH2607in chargeוָאֲצַוֶּ֞הva.'a.tza.VehH6680וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853ofעַל־'al-H5921Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389,along with Hananiahחֲנַנְיָ֛הcha.nan.YahH2608the commanderשַׂ֥רsarH8269of the fortressהַבִּירָ֖הha.bi.RahH1002,becauseכִּי־ki-H3588heהוּא֙hu'H1931was a faithfulאֱמֶ֔ת'e.MetH571manכְּאִ֣ישׁke.'IshH376who fearedוְיָרֵ֥אve.ya.Re'H3372אֶת־'et-H853Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430more than mostמֵרַבִּֽים׃me.ra.BimH7227.

3And I toldוָאֹמַ֣רvai.yo.merH559them, “Do notלֹ֣אlo'H3808openיִפָּֽתְח֞וּyi.pa.te.ChuH6605the gatesשַׁעֲרֵ֤יsha.'a.ReiH8179of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ye.ru.sha.LimH3389untilעַד־'ad-H5704the sunהַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁha.She.meshH8121is hotחֹ֣םchomH2552.Whileוְעַ֨דve.'AdH5704the guardsהֵ֥םhemH1992are on dutyעֹמְדִ֛ים'o.me.DimH5975,keep the doorsהַדְּלָת֖וֹתha.de.la.TotH1817shutיָגִ֥יפוּya.Gi.fuH1479and securely fastenedוֶאֱחֹ֑זוּve.'e.Cho.zuH270.And appointוְהַעֲמֵ֗ידve.ha.'a.MeidH5975the residentsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389as guardsמִשְׁמְרוֹת֙mish.me.rOtH4931,someאִ֚ישׁ'ishH376at their postsבְּמִשְׁמָר֔וֹbe.mish.ma.RoH4929and someוְאִ֖ישׁve.'IshH376atנֶ֥גֶדNe.gedH5048their own homesבֵּיתֽוֹ׃bei.ToH1004.”
