2then I putוָאֲצַוֶּ֞הva.'a.tza.VehH6680Hananiחֲנָ֣נִיcha.Na.niH2607my brotherאָחִ֗י'a.ChiH251, andHananiahחֲנַנְיָ֛הcha.nan.YahH2608the commanderשַׂ֥רsarH8269ofthe fortressהַבִּירָ֖הha.bi.RahH1002,in chargeעַל־'al-H5921of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389, for he wasa faithfulאֱמֶ֔ת'e.MetH571manכְּאִ֣ישׁke.'IshH376and fearedוְיָרֵ֥אve.ya.Re'H3372Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430moreH4480thanH4480manyמֵרַבִּֽים׃me.ra.BimH7227.

3Then I saidוָאֹמַ֣רvai.yo.merH559to them, “Do not let the gatesשַׁעֲרֵ֤יsha.'a.ReiH8179of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ye.ru.sha.LimH3389be openedיִפָּֽתְח֞וּyi.pa.te.ChuH6605untilעַד־'ad-H5704the sunהַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁha.She.meshH8121is hotחֹ֣םchomH2552,and whileוְעַ֨דve.'AdH5704they are standingעֹמְדִ֛ים'o.me.DimH5975guard,let them shutיָגִ֥יפוּya.Gi.fuH1479and boltוֶאֱחֹ֑זוּve.'e.Cho.zuH270the doorsהַדְּלָת֖וֹתha.de.la.TotH1817.Also appointוְהַעֲמֵ֗ידve.ha.'a.MeidH5975guardsמִשְׁמְרוֹת֙mish.me.rOtH4931from the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389,eachאִ֚ישׁ'ishH376at his postבְּמִשְׁמָר֔וֹbe.mish.ma.RoH4929,and eachוְאִ֖ישׁve.'IshH376in frontנֶ֥גֶדNe.gedH5048of his own houseבֵּיתֽוֹ׃bei.ToH1004.”
