1“Beholdהִנְנִ֤יhi.NiH2005,I will sendשֹׁלֵחַ֙sho.le.aChH7971My messengerמַלְאָכִ֔יmal.'a.KhiH4397,who will prepareוּפִנָּה־u.fi.nah-H6437the wayדֶ֖רֶךְDe.rekhH1870before Meלְפָנָ֑יle.fa.NaiH6440.Then the Lordהָאָד֣וֹן׀ha.'a.DonH113whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834youאַתֶּ֣ם'a.TemH859seekמְבַקְשִׁ֗יםme.vak.ShimH1245will suddenlyוּפִתְאֹם֩u.fit.'OmH6597comeיָב֨וֹאya.Vo'H935toאֶל־'el-H413His templeהֵיכָל֜וֹhei.kha.LoH1964—the Messengerוּמַלְאַ֨ךְu.mal.'AkhH4397of the covenantהַבְּרִ֜יתha.be.RitH1285,in whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834youאַתֶּ֤ם'a.TemH859delightחֲפֵצִים֙cha.fe.TzimH2655—seeהִנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009,He is comingבָ֔אVa'H935,”saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the LORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.
2But whoוּמִ֤יu.MiH4310can endureמְכַלְכֵּל֙me.khal.KelH3557אֶת־'et-H853the dayי֣וֹםYomH3117of His comingבּוֹא֔וֹbo.'OH935?And whoוּמִ֥יu.MiH4310can standהָעֹמֵ֖דha.'o.MedH5975when He appearsבְּהֵרָֽאוֹת֑וֹbe.he.ra.'o.ToH7200?Forכִּֽי־ki-H3588Heהוּא֙hu'H1931will be like a refiner’sמְצָרֵ֔ףme.tza.RefH6884fireכְּאֵ֣שׁke.'EshH784, likea launderer’sמְכַבְּסִֽים׃me.kha.be.SimH3526soapוּכְבֹרִ֖יתu.khe.vo.RitH1287.
3And He will sitוְיָשַׁ֨בve.ya.ShavH3427as a refinerמְצָרֵ֤ףme.tza.RefH6884and purifierוּמְטַהֵר֙u.me.ta.HerH2891of silverכֶּ֔סֶףKe.sefH3701;He will purifyוְטִהַ֤רve.ti.HarH2891אֶת־'et-H853the sonsבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Leviלֵוִי֙le.ViH3878and refineוְזִקַּ֣קve.zi.KakH2212themאֹתָ֔ם'o.TamH853like goldכַּזָּהָ֖בka.za.HavH2091and silverוְכַכָּ֑סֶף וְהָיוּ֙ve.kha.Ka.sef ve.ha.YuH3701H1961.Then they will presentמַגִּישֵׁ֥יma.gi.SheiH5066offeringsמִנְחָ֖הmin.ChahH4503to the LORDלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068in righteousnessבִּצְדָקָֽה׃bitz.da.KahH6666.
4Then the offeringsמִנְחַ֥תmin.ChatH4503of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063and Jerusalemוִירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑םvi.ru.sha.LimH3389will pleaseוְעָֽרְבָה֙ve.'a.re.VahH6149the LORDלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068,as in daysכִּימֵ֣יki.MeiH3117of oldעוֹלָ֔םo.LamH5769and yearsוּכְשָׁנִ֖יםu.khe.sha.NimH8141gone byקַדְמֹנִיּֽוֹת׃kad.mo.ni.YotH6931.
5“Then I will draw nearוְקָרַבְתִּ֣יve.ka.rav.TiH7126to youאֲלֵיכֶם֮'a.lei.KhemH413for judgmentלַמִּשְׁפָּט֒la.mish.PatH4941.And I will beוְהָיִ֣יתִי׀ve.ha.Yi.tiH1961a swiftמְמַהֵ֗רme.ma.HerH4116witnessעֵ֣ד'edH5707against sorcerersבַּֽמְכַשְּׁפִים֙bam.kha.she.FimH3784and adulterersוּבַמְנָ֣אֲפִ֔יםu.vam.Na.'a.FimH5003andוּבַנִּשְׁבָּעִ֖יםu.va.nish.ba.'ImH7650perjurersלַשָּׁ֑קֶרla.Sha.kerH8267,against oppressorsוּבְעֹשְׁקֵ֣יu.ve.'o.she.KeiH6231of the widowedאַלְמָנָ֨ה'al.ma.NahH490and fatherlessוְיָת֤וֹםve.ya.TomH3490,and against those who defraud laborersשְׂכַר־se.kha.r.Sa-H7939of their wagesשָׂ֠כִירSa.khirH7916and deny justiceוּמַטֵּי־u.ma.tei-H5186to the foreignerגֵר֙gerH1616but do notוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808fear Meיְרֵא֔וּנִיye.re.'U.niH3372,”saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the LORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.
Robbing God
7Yet from the daysלְמִימֵ֨יle.mi.MeiH3117of your fathersאֲבֹתֵיכֶ֜ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,you have turned awayסַרְתֶּ֤םsar.TemH5493from My statutesמֵֽחֻקַּי֙me.chu.KaiH2706and have notוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808kept themשְׁמַרְתֶּ֔םshe.mar.TemH8104.Returnשׁ֤וּבוּShu.vuH7725to Meאֵלַי֙'e.LaiH413,and I will returnוְאָשׁ֣וּבָהve.'a.Shu.vahH7725to youאֲלֵיכֶ֔ם'a.lei.KhemH413,”saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635. “But you askוַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖םva.'a.mar.TemH559, ‘Howבַּמֶּ֥הba.MehH4100can we returnנָשֽׁוּב׃na.ShuvH7725?’
8Will a manאָדָ֜ם'a.DamH120robהֲיִקְבַּ֨עha.yik.Ba'H6906Godאֱלֹהִ֗ים'E.lo.HimH430?Yetכִּ֤יkiH3588youאַתֶּם֙'a.TemH859are robbingקֹבְעִ֣יםkoe.'ImH6906Meאֹתִ֔י'o.TiH853!But you askוַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖םva.'a.mar.TemH559, ‘Howבַּמֶּ֣הba.MehH4100do we rob Youקְבַעֲנ֑וּךָke.va.'a.Nu.chaH6906?’In tithesהַֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֖רha.ma.'a.SerH4643and offeringsוְהַתְּרוּמָֽה׃ve.ha.te.ru.MahH8641.
10Bringהָבִ֨יאוּha.Vi.'uH935אֶת־'et-H853the fullכָּל־kol-H3605titheהַֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֜רha.ma.'a.SerH4643intoאֶל־'el-H413the storehouseבֵּ֣ית הָאוֹצָ֗רbeit ha.'o.TzarH1004H214,so that there may beוִיהִ֥יvi.HiH1961foodטֶ֙רֶף֙te.refH2964in My houseבְּבֵיתִ֔יbe.vei.TiH1004.Test Meוּבְחָנ֤וּנִי נָא֙u.ve.cha.Nu.ni na'H974H4994in thisבָּזֹ֔אתba.ZotH2063,”saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635. “See ifאִם־'im-H518I will notלֹ֧אlo'H3808openאֶפְתַּ֣ח'ef.TachH6605אֵ֚ת'etH853the windowsאֲרֻבּ֣וֹת'a.ru.BotH699of heavenהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064and pour outוַהֲרִיקֹתִ֥יva.ha.ri.ko.TiH7324for youblessingבְּרָכָ֖ה עַד־be.ra.Khah 'ad-H1293H5704withoutבְּלִי־be.li-H1097measureדָֽי׃DaiH1767.
11I will rebukeוְגָעַרְתִּ֤יve.ga.'ar.TiH1605the devourerבָּֽאֹכֵ֔לba.'o.KhelH398for you,so that it will notוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808destroyיַשְׁחִ֥תyash.ChitH7843אֶת־'et-H853the fruitsפְּרִ֣יpe.RiH6529of your landהָאֲדָמָ֑הha.'a.da.MahH127,and the vineהַגֶּ֙פֶן֙ha.Ge.fenH1612in your fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֔הba.sa.DehH7704will notוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808fail to produce fruitתְשַׁכֵּ֨לte.sha.KelH7921,”saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the LORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.
12“Then allכָּל־kol-H3605the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֑םha.go.YimH1471will call you blessedוְאִשְּׁר֥וּve.'i.she.RuH833אֶתְכֶ֖ם'et.KhemH853,forכִּֽי־ki-H3588youאַתֶּם֙'a.TemH859will beתִהְי֤וּtih.YuH1961a landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of delightחֵ֔פֶץChe.fetzH2656,”saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the LORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃ סtze.va.'otH6635.

14You have saidאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם'a.mar.TemH559, ‘It is futileשָׁ֖וְאshav'H7723to serveעֲבֹ֣ד'a.VodH5647Godאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430.Whatוּמַה־u.mah-H4100have we gainedבֶּ֗צַע כִּ֤יBe.tza' kiH1215H3588by keepingשָׁמַ֙רְנוּ֙sha.Mar.nuH8104His requirementsמִשְׁמַרְתּ֔וֹ וְכִ֤יmish.mar.To ve.KhiH4931H3588and walkingהָלַ֙כְנוּ֙ha.Lakh.nuH1980mournfullyקְדֹ֣רַנִּ֔יתke.Do.ra.NitH6941beforeמִפְּנֵ֖יmi.pe.NeiH6440the LORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635?
15So nowוְעַתָּ֕הve.'a.TahH6258weאֲנַ֖חְנוּ'a.Nach.nuH587call the arrogantזֵדִ֑יםze.DimH2086blessedמְאַשְּׁרִ֣יםme.'a.she.RimH833.Not onlyגַּם־gam-H1571do evildoersעֹשֵׂ֣י רִשְׁעָ֔ה'o.Sei rish.'AhH6213H7564prosperנִבְנוּ֙niv.NuH1129,they evenגַּ֧םgamH1571testבָּחֲנ֛וּba.cha.NuH974Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430and escapeוַיִּמָּלֵֽטוּ׃vai.yi.ma.Le.tuH4422.’”
16At that timeאָ֧ז'azH227those who fearedיִרְאֵ֥יyir.'EiH3373the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068spokeנִדְבְּר֛וּnid.be.RuH1696with oneאִ֣ישׁ אֶת־'ish 'et-H376H854anotherרֵעֵ֑הוּre.'E.huH7453,and the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068listenedוַיַּקְשֵׁ֤בvai.yak.ShevH7181and heardוַיִּשְׁמָ֔עvai.yish.Ma'H8085them.So a scrollסֵ֣פֶרSe.ferH5612of remembranceזִכָּר֤וֹןzi.ka.RonH2146was writtenוַ֠יִּכָּתֵבVai.yi.ka.tevH3789before Himלְפָנָיו֙le.fa.NavH6440regarding those who fearedלְיִרְאֵ֣יle.yir.'EiH3373the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068and honoredוּלְחֹשְׁבֵ֖יu.le.cho.she.VeiH2803His nameשְׁמֽוֹ׃she.MoH8034.
17“They will beוְהָ֣יוּve.Ha.yuH1961Mine,”saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “on the dayלַיּ֕וֹםlai.YomH3117whenאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834Iאֲנִ֖י'a.NiH589prepareעֹשֶׂ֣ה'o.SehH6213My treasured possessionסְגֻלָּ֑הse.gu.LahH5459.And I will spareוְחָמַלְתִּ֣יve.cha.mal.TiH2550themעֲלֵיהֶ֔ם'a.lei.HemH5921asכַּֽאֲשֶׁר֙ka.'a.SherH834a manאִ֔ישׁ'IshH376sparesיַחְמֹ֣לyach.MolH2550his ownעַל־'al-H5921sonבְּנ֖וֹbe.NoH1121who servesהָעֹבֵ֥דha.'o.VedH5647himאֹתֽוֹ׃'o.ToH853.
18So you will againוְשַׁבְתֶּם֙ve.shav.TemH7725distinguishוּרְאִיתֶ֔םu.re.'i.TemH7200betweenבֵּ֥יןbeinH996the righteousצַדִּ֖יקtza.DikH6662and the wickedלְרָשָׁ֑עle.ra.Sha'H7563,betweenבֵּ֚יןbeinH996those who serveעֹבֵ֣ד'o.VedH5647Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430and those whoלַאֲשֶׁ֖רla.'a.SherH834do notלֹ֥א עֲבָדֽוֹ׃ סlo' a.va.DoH3808H5647.”
