And the Lordהָאָד֣וֹן׀ha.'a.DonH113,whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you seekמְבַקְשִׁ֗יםme.vak.ShimH1245,will suddenlyוּפִתְאֹם֩u.fit.'OmH6597comeיָב֨וֹאya.Vo'H935to His templeהֵיכָל֜וֹhei.kha.LoH1964; and themessengerוּמַלְאַ֨ךְu.mal.'AkhH4397of the covenantהַבְּרִ֜יתha.be.RitH1285,in whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you delightחֲפֵצִים֙cha.fe.TzimH2655,beholdH2009,He is comingבָ֔אVa'H935,”saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.
2“But whoוּמִ֤יu.MiH4310canendureמְכַלְכֵּל֙me.khal.KelH3557the dayי֣וֹםYomH3117of His comingבּוֹא֔וֹbo.'OH935?And whoוּמִ֥יu.MiH4310can standהָעֹמֵ֖דha.'o.MedH5975when He appearsבְּהֵרָֽאוֹת֑וֹbe.he.ra.'o.ToH7200? For He is like arefiner’sמְצָרֵ֔ףme.tza.RefH6884fireכְּאֵ֣שׁke.'EshH784and likefullers’מְכַבְּסִֽים׃me.kha.be.SimH3526soapוּכְבֹרִ֖יתu.khe.vo.RitH1287.
3He will sitוְיָשַׁ֨בve.ya.ShavH3427as a smelterמְצָרֵ֤ףme.tza.RefH6884and purifierוּמְטַהֵר֙u.me.ta.HerH2891of silverכֶּ֔סֶףKe.sefH3701, and He willpurifyוְטִהַ֤רve.ti.HarH2891the sonsבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Leviלֵוִי֙le.ViH3878and refineוְזִקַּ֣קve.zi.KakH2212them like goldכַּזָּהָ֖בka.za.HavH2091and silverוְכַכָּ֑סֶףve.kha.Ka.sefH3701, so that they maypresentמַגִּישֵׁ֥יma.gi.SheiH5066to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068offeringsמִנְחָ֖הmin.ChahH4503in righteousnessבִּצְדָקָֽה׃bitz.da.KahH6666.
4Then theofferingמִנְחַ֥תmin.ChatH4503of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063and Jerusalemוִירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑םvi.ru.sha.LimH3389will bepleasingוְעָֽרְבָה֙ve.'a.re.VahH6149to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068as in thedaysכִּימֵ֣יki.MeiH3117of oldעוֹלָ֔םo.LamH5769and as in formerקַדְמֹנִיּֽוֹת׃kad.mo.ni.YotH6931yearsוּכְשָׁנִ֖יםu.khe.sha.NimH8141.
5“Then I will drawוְקָרַבְתִּ֣יve.ka.rav.TiH7126nearH7126to you for judgmentלַמִּשְׁפָּט֒la.mish.PatH4941;and I will be a swiftמְמַהֵ֗רme.ma.HerH4116witnessעֵ֣ד'edH5707against thesorcerersבַּֽמְכַשְּׁפִים֙bam.kha.she.FimH3784and against theadulterersוּבַמְנָ֣אֲפִ֔יםu.vam.Na.'a.FimH5003and against those whoswearוּבַנִּשְׁבָּעִ֖יםu.va.nish.ba.'ImH7650falselyלַשָּׁ֑קֶרla.Sha.kerH8267,and against those who oppressוּבְעֹשְׁקֵ֣יu.ve.'o.she.KeiH6231thewageH7916earnerH7916in his wagesשְׂכַר־se.kha.r.Sa-H7939, thewidowאַלְמָנָ֨ה'al.ma.NahH490and theorphanוְיָת֤וֹםve.ya.TomH3490,and those who turnH5186asideוּמַטֵּי־u.ma.tei-H5186thealienגֵר֙gerH1616and do notfearיְרֵא֔וּנִיye.re.'U.niH3372Me,” saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.
6“ForI, the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,do not changeH8132;therefore you, O sonsבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290,are not consumedכְלִיתֶֽם׃khe.li.TemH3615.
7“From thedaysלְמִימֵ֨יle.mi.MeiH3117of your fathersאֲבֹתֵיכֶ֜ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1you have turnedH5493asideסַרְתֶּ֤םsar.TemH5493from My statutesמֵֽחֻקַּי֙me.chu.KaiH2706and have not keptשְׁמַרְתֶּ֔םshe.mar.TemH8104them.Returnשׁ֤וּבוּShu.vuH7725to Me, and I will returnוְאָשׁ֣וּבָהve.'a.Shu.vahH7725to you,” saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635. “But you sayוַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖םva.'a.mar.TemH559, ‘Howבַּמֶּ֥הba.MehH4100shall we returnנָשֽׁוּב׃na.ShuvH7725?’

You Have Robbed God

8“Will a manאָדָ֜ם'a.DamH120robהֲיִקְבַּ֨עha.yik.Ba'H6906Godאֱלֹהִ֗ים'E.lo.HimH430?Yetכִּ֤יkiH3588you are robbingקֹבְעִ֣יםkoe.'ImH6906Me! But you sayוַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖םva.'a.mar.TemH559, ‘Howבַּמֶּ֣הba.MehH4100have we robbedקְבַעֲנ֑וּךָke.va.'a.Nu.chaH6906You?’ Intithesהַֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֖רha.ma.'a.SerH4643andofferingsוְהַתְּרוּמָֽה׃ve.ha.te.ru.MahH8641.
9You arecursedנֵֽאָרִ֔יםne.'a.RimH779with a curseבַּמְּאֵרָה֙ba.me.'e.RahH3994, for you arerobbingקֹבְעִ֑יםkoe.'ImH6906Me, the wholeכֻּלּֽוֹ׃ku.LoH3605nationהַגּ֖וֹיha.GoyH1471of you!
10Bringהָבִ֨יאוּha.Vi.'uH935the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605titheהַֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֜רha.ma.'a.SerH4643into the storehouseהָאוֹצָ֗רha.'o.TzarH214, so that there may befoodטֶ֙רֶף֙te.refH2964in My houseH1004,and testוּבְחָנ֤וּנִיu.ve.cha.Nu.niH974Me nowנָא֙na'H4994in thisH2088,”saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “ifאִם־'im-H518I will notopenאֶפְתַּ֣ח'ef.TachH6605for you the windowsאֲרֻבּ֣וֹת'a.ru.BotH699of heavenהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064andpourH7385out for you a blessingבְּרָכָ֖הbe.ra.KhahH1293untilעַד־'ad-H5704it overflowsבְּלִי־ דָֽי׃be.li- DaiH1097H1767.
11Then I will rebukeוְגָעַרְתִּ֤יve.ga.'ar.TiH1605thedevourerבָּֽאֹכֵ֔לba.'o.KhelH398for you, so that it will notdestroyיַשְׁחִ֥תyash.ChitH7843the fruitsפְּרִ֣יpe.RiH6529of the groundהָאֲדָמָ֑הha.'a.da.MahH127;norH3808will your vineהַגֶּ֙פֶן֙ha.Ge.fenH1612in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֔הba.sa.DehH7704castתְשַׁכֵּ֨לte.sha.KelH7921its grapes,”saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.
12“Allכָּל־kol-H3605the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֑םha.go.YimH1471will callוְאִשְּׁר֥וּve.'i.she.RuH833you blessedH833, for you shall be adelightfulחֵ֔פֶץChe.fetzH2656landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776,”saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃ סtze.va.'otH6635.
13“Your wordsדִּבְרֵיכֶ֖םdiv.rei.KhemH1697have beenH2388arrogantH2388againstעָלַ֛י'a.LaiH5921Me,” saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068. “Yet you sayוַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕םva.'a.mar.TemH559, ‘Whatמַה־mah-H4100have we spokenנִּדְבַּ֖רְנוּnid.Bar.nuH1696againstעָלֶֽיךָ׃'a.Lei.khaH5921You?’
14You have saidאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם'a.mar.TemH559, ‘It isvainשָׁ֖וְאshav'H7723to serveעֲבֹ֣ד'a.VodH5647Godאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430;and whatוּמַה־u.mah-H4100profitבֶּ֗צַעBe.tza'H1215is it that we have keptשָׁמַ֙רְנוּ֙sha.Mar.nuH8104His chargeמִשְׁמַרְתּ֔וֹmish.mar.ToH4931,and that we have walkedהָלַ֙כְנוּ֙ha.Lakh.nuH1980in mourningקְדֹ֣רַנִּ֔יתke.Do.ra.NitH6941beforeמִפְּנֵ֖יmi.pe.NeiH4480H6440the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635?
15So nowוְעַתָּ֕הve.'a.TahH6258wecallH833the arrogantזֵדִ֑יםze.DimH2086blessedH833;not onlyגַּם־gam-H1571are the doersעֹשֵׂ֣י'o.SeiH6213of wickednessרִשְׁעָ֔הrish.'AhH7564builtנִבְנוּ֙niv.NuH1129up but they alsoגַּ֧םgamH1571testבָּחֲנ֛וּba.cha.NuH974Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430andescapeוַיִּמָּלֵֽטוּ׃vai.yi.ma.Le.tuH4422.’”

16Thenאָ֧ז'azH227those whofearedH3372the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068spokeנִדְבְּר֛וּnid.be.RuH1696to oneאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376anotherרֵעֵ֑הוּre.'E.huH7453,and the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068gaveH7181attentionוַיַּקְשֵׁ֤בvai.yak.ShevH7181and heardוַיִּשְׁמָ֔עvai.yish.Ma'H8085it, and abookסֵ֣פֶרSe.ferH5612of remembranceזִכָּר֤וֹןzi.ka.RonH2146was writtenוַ֠יִּכָּתֵבVai.yi.ka.tevH3789beforeלְפָנָיו֙le.fa.NavH6440Him for those whofearH3372the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068and who esteemוּלְחֹשְׁבֵ֖יu.le.cho.she.VeiH2803His nameשְׁמֽוֹ׃she.MoH8034.
17“They will beMine,” saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “on thedayלַיּ֕וֹםlai.YomH3117that Iprepareעֹשֶׂ֣ה'o.SehH6213Myown possessionסְגֻלָּ֑הse.gu.LahH5459, and I willspareוְחָמַלְתִּ֣יve.cha.mal.TiH2550them as a manאִ֔ישׁ'IshH376sparesיַחְמֹ֣לyach.MolH2550his own sonבְּנ֖וֹbe.NoH1121who servesהָעֹבֵ֥דha.'o.VedH5647him.”
18So you will againוְשַׁבְתֶּם֙ve.shav.TemH7725distinguishוּרְאִיתֶ֔םu.re.'i.TemH7200betweenבֵּ֥יןbeinH996the righteousצַדִּ֖יקtza.DikH6662and the wickedלְרָשָׁ֑עle.ra.Sha'H7563,betweenבֵּ֚יןbeinH996one who servesעֹבֵ֣ד'o.VedH5647Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430and one whoלַאֲשֶׁ֖רla.'a.SherH834does not serveעֲבָדֽוֹ׃ סa.va.DoH5647Him.
