8And he struckוַיַּ֨ךְvai.YakhH5221themאוֹתָ֥ם'o.TamH853ruthlesslyשׁ֛וֹק עַל־ יָרֵ֖ךְShok 'al- ya.RekhH7785 H5921 H3409with a greatגְדוֹלָ֑הge.do.LahH1419slaughterמַכָּ֣הma.KahH4347,and then went downוַיֵּ֣רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381and stayedוַיֵּ֔שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427in the caveבִּסְעִ֖יףbis.'IfH5585at the rockסֶ֥לַעSe.la'H5553of Etamעֵיטָֽם׃ ס'ei.TamH5862.

9Then the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֔יםfe.lish.TimH6430went upוַיַּעֲל֣וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927,campedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583in Judahבִּיהוּדָ֑הbi.hu.DahH3063,and deployed themselvesוַיִּנָּטְשׁ֖וּvai.yi.na.te.ShuH5203near the town of Lehiבַּלֶּֽחִי׃ba.Le.chiH3896.

10“Whyלָמָ֖הla.MahH4100have you attackedעֲלִיתֶ֣ם'a.li.TemH5927usעָלֵ֑ינוּ'a.Lei.nuH5921?”saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063.The Philistines repliedוַיֹּאמְר֗וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “We have comeעָלִ֔ינוּ'a.Li.nuH5927to arrestלֶאֱס֤וֹרle.'e.SorH631אֶת־'et-H853Samsonשִׁמְשׁוֹן֙shim.shOnH8123and pay him backלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213for whatכַּאֲשֶׁ֖רka.'a.SherH834he has doneעָ֥שָׂה'A.sahH6213to us.”
