14And Calebכָּלֵ֔בka.LevH3612אֶת־'et-H853drove outוַיֹּ֤רֶשׁvai.Yo.reshH3423from thereמִשָּׁם֙mi.ShamH8033the threeשְׁלוֹשָׁ֖הshe.lo.ShahH7969sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Anakהָעֲנָ֑קha.'a.NakH6061—the descendants ofאֶת־'et-H853Sheshaiשֵׁשַׁ֤יshe.ShaiH8344וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,Ahimanאֲחִימַן֙'a.chi.ManH289וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,and Talmaiתַּלְמַ֔יtal.MaiH8526,the childrenיְלִידֵ֖יye.li.DeiH3211of Anakהָעֲנָֽק׃ha.'a.NakH6061.

15From thereמִשָּׁ֔םmi.ShamH8033he marchedוַיַּ֣עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927againstאֶל־'el-H413the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֖יyo.she.VeiH3427of Debirדְּבִ֑רde.VirH1688דְּבִ֥רde.VirH1688(formerlyלְפָנִ֖יםle.fa.NimH6440known asוְשֵׁם־ve.shem-H8034Kiriath-sepherH7158).

16And Calebכָּלֵ֔בka.LevH3612saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “To the man whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834strikes downיַכֶּ֥הya.KehH5221אֶת־'et-H853Kiriath-sepherH7158and captures itוּלְכָדָ֑הּu.le.kha.DahH3920,I will giveוְנָתַ֥תִּיve.na.Ta.tiH5414אֶת־'et-H853my daughterבִתִּ֖יvi.TiH1323Acsahעַכְסָ֥ה'akh.SahH5915in marriageלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.”

17So Othnielעָתְנִיאֵ֥ל'a.te.ni.'ElH6274sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Caleb’sכָלֵ֑בkha.LevH3612brotherאֲחִ֣י'a.ChiH251Kenazקְנַ֖זke.NazH7073capturedוַֽיִּלְכְּדָ֛הּvai.yil.ke.DahH3920the city,and Caleb gaveוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414אֶת־'et-H853his daughterבִתּ֖וֹvi.ToH1323Acsahעַכְסָ֥ה'akh.SahH5915to himin marriageלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

18One dayוַיְהִ֣יvay.HiH1961Acsahcameבְּבוֹאָ֗הּbe.vo.'AhH935to Othnieland urged himוַתְּסִיתֵ֙הוּ֙va.te.si.Te.huH5496to askלִשְׁא֤וֹלlish.'olH7592her fatherאָבִ֙יהָ֙'a.Vi.haH1forמֵֽאֵת־me.'et-H854a fieldשָׂדֶ֔הsa.DehH7704.When she got offוַתִּצְנַ֖ח מֵעַ֣לva.titz.Nach me.'AlH6795 H5921her donkeyהַחֲמ֑וֹרha.cha.MorH2543,Calebכָּלֵ֖בka.LevH3612askedוַיֹּֽאמֶר־vai.yo.mer-H559her, “Whatמַה־mah-H4100do you desire?”

19“Giveתְּנָה־te.nah-H5414mea blessingבְרָכָ֗הve.ra.KhahH1293,”she answeredוַתֹּ֜אמֶרva.To.merH559. “Sinceכִּ֣יkiH3588you have given meנְתַתָּ֔נִיne.ta.Ta.niH5414landאֶ֤רֶץ'E.retzH776in the Negevהַנֶּ֙גֶב֙ha.Ne.gevH5045,give meוְנָתַתָּ֥הve.na.ta.TahH5414springsגֻּלֹּ֣תgu.LotH1543of waterמָ֑יִםMa.yimH4325as well.”So Caleb gaveוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414herאֵ֚ת'etH853boththe upperעִלִּיּ֔וֹתi.li.YotH5942וְאֵ֖תve.'EtH853גֻּלֹּ֣תgu.LotH1543and lowerתַּחְתִּיּֽוֹת׃ פtach.ti.YotH8482springsגֻּלֹּ֥תgu.LotH1543.
