7Forכִּ֤יkiH3588there isיֵ֥שׁyeshH3426hopeתִּ֫קְוָ֥הtik.VahH8615for a treeלָעֵ֗ץla.'EtzH6086:Ifאִֽם־'im-H518it is cut downיִ֭כָּרֵתYi.ka.retH3772,it will sproutיַחֲלִ֑יףya.cha.LifH2498againוְע֣וֹדve.'odH5750,and its tender shootsוְ֝יֹֽנַקְתּ֗וֹve.yo.nak.ToH3127will notלֹ֣אlo'H3808failתֶחְדָּֽל׃tech.DalH2308.

8Ifאִם־'im-H518its rootsשָׁרְשׁ֑וֹsha.re.ShoH8328grow oldיַזְקִ֣יןyaz.KinH2204in the groundבָּאָ֣רֶץba.'A.retzH776and its stumpגִּזְעֽוֹ׃giz.'OH1503diesיָמ֥וּתya.MutH4191in the soilוּ֝בֶעָפָ֗רu.ve.'a.FarH6083,

9at the scentמֵרֵ֣יחַme.Rei.achH7381of waterמַ֣יִםMa.yimH4325it will budיַפְרִ֑חַyaf.Ri.achH6524and put forthוְעָשָׂ֖הve.'a.SahH6213twigsקָצִ֣ירka.TzirH7105likeכְּמוֹ־ke.mov-H3644a saplingנָֽטַע׃Na.ta'H5194.

10But a manוְגֶ֣בֶרve.Ge.verH1397diesיָ֭מוּתYa.mutH4191and is laid lowוַֽיֶּחֱלָ֑שׁvai.ye.che.LashH2522;heאָדָ֣ם'a.DamH120breathes his lastוַיִּגְוַ֖עvai.yig.Va'H1478,and where is heוְאַיּֽוֹ׃ve.'ai.YoH335?

11As waterמַ֭יִםMa.yimH4325disappearsאָֽזְלוּ־'a.ze.lu-H235fromמִנִּי־mi.ni-H4480the seaיָ֑םYamH3220and a riverוְ֝נָהָ֗רve.na.HarH5104becomes parchedיֶחֱרַ֥בye.che.RavH2717and dryוְיָבֵֽשׁ׃ve.ya.VeshH3001,

12so a manוְאִ֥ישׁve.'IshH376lies downשָׁכַ֗בsha.KhavH7901and does notוְֽלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808riseיָ֫ק֥וּםya.KumH6965.Untilעַד־'ad-H5704the heavensשָׁ֭מַיִםSha.ma.yimH8064are no moreבִּלְתִּ֣יbil.TiH1115,he will notלֹ֣אlo'H3808be awakenedיָקִ֑יצוּya.Ki.tzuH6974orוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808rousedיֵ֝עֹ֗רוּye.'O.ruH5782from sleepמִשְּׁנָתָֽם׃mi.she.na.TamH8142.

13If onlyמִ֤י יִתֵּ֨ן׀mi yi.TenH4310 H5414You would hide meתַּצְפִּנֵ֗נִיtatz.pi.Ne.niH6845in Sheolבִּשְׁא֬וֹלbish.'olH7585and conceal meתַּ֭סְתִּירֵנִיTas.ti.re.niH5641untilעַד־'ad-H5704Your angerאַפֶּ֑ךָ'a.Pe.khaH639has passedשׁ֣וּבshuvH7725!If only You would appointתָּ֤שִׁ֥יתta.ShitH7896a timeחֹ֣קchokH2706for meand then remember meוְתִזְכְּרֵֽנִי׃ve.tiz.ke.Re.niH2142!

14Whenאִם־'im-H518a manגֶּ֗בֶרGe.verH1397diesיָמ֥וּתya.MutH4191,will he liveהֲיִ֫חְיֶ֥הha.Yich.YehH2421again?Allכָּל־kol-H3605the daysיְמֵ֣יye.MeiH3117of my hard serviceצְבָאִ֣יtze.va.'IH6635I will waitאֲיַחֵ֑ל'a.ya.ChelH3176,untilעַד־'ad-H5704my renewalחֲלִיפָתִֽי׃cha.li.fa.TiH2487comesבּ֝֗וֹאBo'H935.

15You will callתִּ֭קְרָאTik.ra'H7121,and Iוְאָנֹכִ֣יve.'a.no.KhiH595will answerאֶֽעֱנֶ֑ךָּ'e.'e.Ne.kaH6030;You will desireתִכְסֹֽף׃tikh.SofH3700the workלְֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖הle.ma.'a.SehH4639of Your handsיָדֶ֣יךָya.Dei.khaH3027.

16Forכִּֽי־ki-H3588thenעַ֭תָּה'A.tahH6258You would countתִּסְפּ֑וֹרtis.PorH5608my stepsצְעָדַ֣יtze.'a.DaiH6806,but would notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808keep trackתִ֝שְׁמ֗וֹרtish.MorH8104ofעַל־'al-H5921my sinחַטָּאתִֽי׃cha.ta.TiH2403.

17My transgressionפִּשְׁעִ֑יpish.'IH6588would be sealedחָתֻ֣םcha.TumH2856in a bagבִּצְר֣וֹרbitz.RorH6872,and You would coverוַ֝תִּטְפֹּ֗לva.tit.PolH2950overעַל־'al-H5921my iniquityעֲוֹנִֽי׃'a.vo.NiH5771.

18Butוְ֭אוּלָםVe.'u.lomH199as a mountainהַר־har-H2022erodesנוֹפֵ֣לno.FelH5307and crumblesיִבּ֑וֹלyi.BolH5034and a rockוְ֝צ֗וּרve.TzurH6697is dislodgedיֶעְתַּ֥קye'.TakH6275from its placeמִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃mi.me.ko.MoH4725,

19as waterמַ֗יִםMa.yimH4325wears awayשָׁ֥חֲקוּSha.cha.kuH7833the stonesאֲבָנִ֤ים׀'a.va.NimH68and torrentsסְפִיחֶ֥יהָse.fi.Chei.haH5599wash awayתִּשְׁטֹֽף־tish.tof-H7857the soilעֲפַר־ אָ֑רֶץ'a.far- 'A.retzH6083 H776,so You destroyהֶאֱבַֽדְתָּ׃he.'e.Vad.taH6a man’sאֱנ֣וֹשׁ'e.No.oshH582hopeוְתִקְוַ֖תve.tik.VatH8615.
