1“Go up and downשׁוֹטְט֞וּsho.TuH7751the streetsבְּחוּצ֣וֹתbe.chu.TzotH2351of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֗םye.ru.sha.LimH3389.Lookוּרְאוּ־u.re.'u-H7200nowנָ֤אna'H4994and take noteוּדְעוּ֙u.de.'UH3045;searchוּבַקְשׁ֣וּu.vak.ShuH1245her squaresבִרְחוֹבוֹתֶ֔יהָvir.cho.o.Tei.haH7339.Ifאִם־'im-H518you can findתִּמְצְא֣וּtim.tze.'UH4672a single personאִ֔ישׁ אִם־ יֵ֛שׁ'Ish 'im- yeshH376 H518 H3426, anyonewho actsעֹשֶׂ֥ה'o.SehH6213justlyמִשְׁפָּ֖טmish.PatH4941, anyonewho seeksמְבַקֵּ֣שׁme.va.KeshH1245the truthאֱמוּנָ֑ה'e.mu.NahH530,then I will forgiveוְאֶסְלַ֖חve.'es.LachH5545the city.

2Althoughוְאִ֥םve.'ImH518they sayיֹאמֵ֑רוּ לָכֵ֥ןyo.Me.ru la.KhenH559 H3651, ‘As surely as the LORDיְהֹוָ֖הYah.wehH3068livesחַי־chai-H2416,’they are swearing falselyלַשֶּׁ֖קֶר יִשָּׁבֵֽעוּ׃la.She.ker yi.sha.Ve.'uH7650 H8267.”

3O LORDיְהֹוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,do notהֲל֣וֹאha.Lo'H3808Your eyesעֵינֶיךָ֮'ei.nei.KhaH5869lookfor truthלֶאֱמוּנָה֒le.'e.mu.NahH530?You struck themהִכִּ֤יתָהhi.Ki.tahH5221אֹתָם֙'o.TamH853,but they felt noוְֽלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808painחָ֔לוּCha.luH2342.You finished them offכִּלִּיתָ֕םki.li.TamH3615,but they refusedמֵאֲנ֖וּme.'a.NuH3985to acceptקַ֣חַתKa.chatH3947disciplineמוּסָ֑רmu.SarH4148.They have made their facesפְנֵיהֶם֙fe.nei.HemH6440harderחִזְּק֤וּchi.ze.KuH2388than stoneמִסֶּ֔לַעmi.Se.la'H5553and refusedמֵאֲנ֖וּme.'a.NuH3985to repentלָשֽׁוּב׃la.ShuvH7725.

4Then Iוַאֲנִ֣יva.'a.NiH589saidאָמַ֔רְתִּי'a.Mar.tiH559, “Theyהֵ֑םHemH1992are onlyאַךְ־'akh-H389the poorדַּלִּ֖יםda.LimH1800;they have played the foolנוֹאֲל֕וּno.'a.LuH2973,forכִּ֣יkiH3588they do notלֹ֤אlo'H3808knowיָדְעוּ֙ya.de.'UH3045the wayדֶּ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,the justiceמִשְׁפַּ֖טmish.PatH4941of their Godאֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.HemH430.

5I will goאֵֽלֲכָה־'e.la.khah-H1980toאֶל־'el-H413the powerfulהַגְּדֹלִים֙ha.ge.do.LimH1419and speakוַאֲדַבְּרָ֣הva.'a.da.be.RahH1696to themאוֹתָ֔ם'o.TamH853.Surelyכִּ֣יkiH3588theyהֵ֗מָּהHe.mahH1992knowיָדְעוּ֙ya.de.'UH3045the wayדֶּ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,the justiceמִשְׁפַּ֖טmish.PatH4941of their Godאֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430.”Butאַ֣ךְ'akhH389they tooהֵ֤מָּהHe.mahH1992,with one accordיַחְדָּו֙yach.DavH3162,had brokenשָׁ֣בְרוּSha.ve.ruH7665the yokeעֹ֔ל'OlH5923and torn offנִתְּק֖וּni.te.KuH5423the chainsמוֹסֵרֽוֹת׃mo.se.RotH4147.

6Thereforeעַל־ כֵּן֩'al- kenH5921 H3651a lionאַרְיֵ֜ה'ar.YehH738from the forestמִיַּ֗עַרmi.Ya.'arH3293will strike them downהִכָּ֨םhi.KamH5221,a wolfזְאֵ֤בze.'EvH2061from the desertעֲרָבוֹת֙a.ra.VotH6160will ravage themיְשָׁדְדֵ֔םye.sha.de.DemH7703.A leopardנָמֵ֤רna.MerH5246will lie in waitשֹׁקֵד֙sho.KedH8245nearעַל־'al-H5921their citiesעָ֣רֵיהֶ֔ם'a.rei.HemH5892, andeveryoneכָּל־kol-H3605who ventures outהַיּוֹצֵ֥אhai.yo.Tze'H3318will be torn to piecesיִטָּרֵ֑ףyi.ta.RefH2963.Forכִּ֤יkiH3588their rebellious actsפִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֔םpish.'ei.HemH6588are manyרַבּוּ֙ra.BuH7231, andtheir unfaithful deedsמְשׁוּבוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃me.shu.vo.tei.hemH4878are numerousעָצְמ֖וּ'a.tze.MuH6105.

7“Whyאֵ֤י לָזֹאת֙'ei la.zoTH335 H2063should I forgive youאֶֽסְלַֽח'es.lo.ach-H5545?Your childrenבָּנַ֣יִךְba.Na.yikhH1121have forsaken Meעֲזָב֔וּנִי'a.za.Vu.niH5800and swornוַיִּשָּׁבְע֖וּvai.yi.sha.ve.'UH7650by gods that are notבְּלֹ֣אbe.Lo'H3808godsאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430.I satisfiedוָאַשְׂבִּ֤עַva.'as.Bi.a'H7646their needsאוֹתָם֙'o.TamH853,yet they committed adulteryוַיִּנְאָ֔פוּvai.yin.'A.fuH5003and assembledיִתְגֹּדָֽדוּ׃yit.go.Da.duH1413at the housesוּבֵ֥יתu.VeitH1004of prostitutesזוֹנָ֖הzo.NahH2181.

8They areהָי֑וּha.YuH1961well-fedמְיֻזָּנִ֖יםme.yu.za.NimH2109,lustyמַשְׁכִּ֣יםmash.KimH7904stallionsסוּסִ֥יםsu.SimH5483,eachאִ֛ישׁ'ishH376neighingיִצְהָֽלוּ׃yitz.Ha.luH6670afterאֶל־'el-H413his neighbor’sרֵעֵ֖הוּre.'E.huH7453wifeאֵ֥שֶׁת'E.shetH802.

9Should I notלוֹא־lo'-H3808punish themאֶפְקֹ֖ד'ef.KodH6485forהַֽעַל־ha.'al-H5921these thingsאֵ֥לֶּה'E.lehH428?”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the LORDיְהֹוָ֑הYah.wehH3068וְאִם֙ve.'ImH518. “Should I notלֹ֥אlo'H3808avengeתִתְנַקֵּ֖םtit.na.KemH5358Myselfנַפְשִֽׁי׃ סnaf.ShiH5315on such a nationבְּג֣וֹיbe.GoyH1471אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834as thisכָּזֶ֔הka.ZehH2088?

10Go upעֲל֤וּ'a.LuH5927through her vineyardsבְשָׁרוֹתֶ֙יהָ֙ve.sha.ro.Tei.haH8284and ravage themוְשַׁחֵ֔תוּve.sha.Che.tuH7843,but do notאַֽל־'al-H408finish them offוְכָלָ֖ה תַּעֲשׂ֑וּve.kha.Lah ta.'a.SuH3617 H6213.Strip offהָסִ֙ירוּ֙ha.Si.ruH5493her branchesנְטִ֣ישׁוֹתֶ֔יהָne.Ti.sho.Tei.haH5189,forכִּ֛יkiH3588theyהֵֽמָּה׃He.mahH1992do notל֥וֹאLo'H3808belong to the LORDלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068.

11Forכִּי֩kiH3588the houseבֵּ֧יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478and the houseוּבֵ֥יתu.VeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063have been utterly unfaithfulH898to Me,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

12They have liedכִּֽחֲשׁוּ֙ki.cha.ShuH3584about the LORDבַּיהוָ֔הba.Yah.wehH3068and saidוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559: “Heה֑וּאHu'H1931will not do anythingלֹא־lo'-H3808;harmרָעָ֔הra.'AhH7451will notוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808comeתָב֤וֹאta.Vo'H935to usעָלֵ֙ינוּ֙'a.Lei.nuH5921;we will notל֥וֹאLo'H3808seeנִרְאֶֽה׃nir.'EhH7200swordוְחֶ֥רֶבve.Che.revH2719or famineוְרָעָ֖בve.ra.'AvH7458.
