3Otherwiseפֶּן־pen-H6435,I will strip herאַפְשִׁיטֶ֣נָּה'af.shi.Te.nahH6584nakedעֲרֻמָּ֔ה'a.ru.MahH6174and expose herוְהִ֨צַּגְתִּ֔יהָve.Hi.tzag.Ti.haH3322like the dayכְּי֖וֹםke.YomH3117of her birthהִוָּֽלְדָ֑הּhi.val.DahH3205.I will make herוְשַׂמְתִּ֣יהָve.sam.Ti.haH7760like a desertכַמִּדְבָּ֗רkha.mid.BarH4057and turn her intoוְשַׁתִּ֙הָ֙ve.sha.Ti.haH7896a parchedצִיָּ֔הtzi.YahH6723landכְּאֶ֣רֶץke.'E.retzH776,and I will let her dieוַהֲמִתִּ֖יהָva.ha.mi.Ti.haH4191of thirstבַּצָּמָֽא׃ba.tza.Ma'H6772.

6Thereforeלָכֵ֛ןla.KhenH3651,beholdהִנְנִי־hi.ni-H2005,I will hedge upשָׂ֥ךְsakhH7753herH853pathדַּרְכֵּ֖ךְdar.KekhH1870with thornsבַּסִּירִ֑יםba.si.RimH5518;I will enclose her with a wallוְגָֽדַרְתִּי֙ve.ga.dar.TiH1443H853גְּדֵרָ֔הּge.de.RahH1447,so she cannotH3808findתִמְצָֽא׃tim.Tza'H4672her wayוּנְתִיבוֹתֶ֖יהָu.ne.ti.vo.Tei.haH5410.

7She will pursueוְרִדְּפָ֤הve.ri.de.FahH7291אֶת־'et-H853her loversH157but notוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808catchתַשִּׂ֣יגta.SigH5381themאֹתָ֔ם'o.TamH853;she will seek themוּבִקְשָׁ֖תַםu.vik.Sha.tamH1245but notוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808find themתִמְצָ֑אtim.Tza'H4672.Then she will sayH559 H1980, ‘I will returnוְאָשׁ֙וּבָה֙ve.'a.Shu.vahH7725toאֶל־'el-H413my firstהָֽרִאשׁ֔וֹןha.ri.ShonH7223husbandאִישִׁ֣י'i.ShiH376,forH3588thenאָ֖ז'azH227I was better offH2896than nowמֵעָֽתָּה׃me.'A.tahH6258.’

8For sheוְהִיא֙ve.Hi'H1931does notH3808acknowledgeיָֽדְעָ֔הya.de.'AhH3045thatכִּ֤יkiH3588it was Iאָֽנֹכִי֙'a.no.KhiH595who gaveנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414hergrainהַדָּגָ֖ןha.da.GanH1715,new wineוְהַתִּיר֣וֹשׁve.ha.ti.Ro.oshH8492,and oilוְהַיִּצְהָ֑רve.hai.yitz.HarH3323,who lavishedהִרְבֵּ֥יתִיhir.Bei.tiH7235on hersilverוְכֶ֨סֶףve.Khe.sefH3701and goldוְזָהָ֖בve.za.HavH2091—which they craftedעָשׂ֥וּ'a.SuH6213for Baalלַבָּֽעַל׃la.Ba.'alH1168.

9Thereforeלָכֵ֣ןla.KhenH3651I will take backוְלָקַחְתִּ֤יve.la.kach.TiH7725 H3947My grainדְגָנִי֙de.ga.NiH1715in its timeבְּעִתּ֔וֹbe.'i.ToH6256and My new wineוְתִירוֹשִׁ֖יve.ti.ro.ShiH8492in its seasonבְּמֽוֹעֲד֑וֹbe.mo.'a.DoH4150;I will take awayוְהִצַּלְתִּי֙ve.hi.tzal.TiH5337My woolצַמְרִ֣יtzam.RiH6785and linenוּפִשְׁתִּ֔יu.fish.TiH6593,which were given to coverלְכַסּ֖וֹתle.kha.SotH3680H853her nakednessעֶרְוָתָֽהּ׃'er.va.TahH6172.

10And thenוְעַתָּ֛הve.'a.TahH6258I will exposeאֲגַלֶּ֥ה'a.ga.LehH1540אֶת־'et-H853her lewdnessנַבְלֻתָ֖הּnav.lu.TahH5040in the sightלְעֵינֵ֣יle.'ei.NeiH5869of her loversמְאַהֲבֶ֑יהָme.'a.ha.Vei.haH157,and noH3808oneוְאִ֖ישׁve.'IshH376will deliver herיַצִּילֶ֥נָּהya.tzi.Le.nahH5337out of My handsמִיָּדִֽי׃mi.ya.DiH3027.
