1Whenכִּ֛יkiH3588Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478was a childנַ֥עַרNa.'arH5288,I loved himוָאֹהֲבֵ֑הוּva.'o.ha.Ve.huH157,and out of Egyptוּמִמִּצְרַ֖יִםu.mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714I calledקָרָ֥אתִיka.Ra.tiH7121My sonלִבְנִֽי׃liv.NiH1121.

2But the more I calledקָרְא֖וּka.re.'UH7121Israel,the fartherכֵּ֚ןkenH3651they departedהָלְכ֣וּha.le.KhuH1980from Meמִפְּנֵיהֶ֔םmi.pe.nei.HemH6440.They sacrificedיְזַבֵּ֔חוּye.za.Be.chuH2076to the Baalsלַבְּעָלִ֣יםla.be.'a.LimH1168and burned incenseיְקַטֵּרֽוּן׃ye.ka.te.RunH6999to carved imagesוְלַפְּסִלִ֖יםve.la.pe.si.LimH6456.

3It was Iוְאָנֹכִ֤יve.'a.no.KhiH595who taught Ephraimלְאֶפְרַ֔יִםle.'ef.Ra.yimH669to walkתִרְגַּ֙לְתִּי֙tir.Gal.tiH8637,taking themקָחָ֖םka.ChamH3947byעַל־'al-H5921the armsזְרֽוֹעֹתָ֑יוze.ro.'o.TavH2220,but they neverוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808realizedיָדְע֖וּya.de.'UH3045that it was Iכִּ֥יkiH3588who healed themרְפָאתִֽים׃re.fa.TimH7495.

4I led themאֶמְשְׁכֵם֙'em.she.KhemH4900with cordsבְּחַבְלֵ֨יbe.chav.LeiH2256of kindnessאָדָ֤ם'a.DamH120,with ropesבַּעֲבֹת֣וֹתba.'a.vo.TotH5688of loveאַהֲבָ֔ה'a.ha.VahH160;I liftedוָאֶהְיֶ֥ה כִּמְרִ֥ימֵיva.'eh.Yeh kim.Ri.meiH1961 H7311the yokeעֹ֖ל'olH5923fromעַ֣ל'alH5921their necksלְחֵיהֶ֑םle.chei.HemH3895and bent downוְאַ֥ט אֵלָ֖יוve.'At 'e.LavH5186 H413to feed themאוֹכִֽיל׃'o.KhilH398.

5Will they notלֹ֤אlo'H3808returnיָשׁוּב֙ya.ShuvH7725toאֶל־'el-H413the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714and be ruledמַלְכּ֑וֹmal.KoH4428by Assyriaוְאַשּׁ֖וּר ה֣וּאve.'a.Shur hu'H804 H1931becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588they refusedמֵאֲנ֖וּme.'a.NuH3985to repentלָשֽׁוּב׃la.ShuvH7725?

6A swordחֶ֙רֶב֙che.revH2719will flashוְחָלָ֥הve.cha.LahH2342through their citiesבְּעָרָ֔יוbe.'a.RavH5892;it will destroyוְכִלְּתָ֥הve.khi.le.TahH3615the bars of their gatesבַדָּ֖יוva.DavH907and consumeוְאָכָ֑לָהve.'a.Kha.lahH398themin their own plansמִֽמֹּעֲצ֖וֹתֵיהֶֽם׃mi.mo.'a.Tzo.tei.HemH4156.

7My peopleוְעַמִּ֥יve.'a.MiH5971are bentתְלוּאִ֖יםte.lu.'ImH8511on turning from Meלִמְשֽׁוּבָתִ֑יlim.shu.va.TiH4878.Though they callיִקְרָאֻ֔הוּyik.ra.'U.huH7121toוְאֶל־ve.'el-H413the Most Highעַל֙'alH5920,He will by no meansיַ֖חַד לֹ֥אYa.chad lo'H3808 H3162exalt themיְרוֹמֵם׃ye.ro.memH7311.
