13So the decreeוְדָתָ֣אve.da.Ta'H1882went outנֶפְקַ֔תnef.KatH5312that the wise menוְחַכִּֽימַיָּ֖אve.cha.ki.mai.Ya'H2445were to be executedמִֽתְקַטְּלִ֑יןmit.ka.te.LinH6992,and men went to look forוּבְע֛וֹu.ve.'OH1156Danielדָּנִיֵּ֥אלda.ni.YelH1841and his friendsוְחַבְר֖וֹהִיve.chav.Ro.hiH2269to execute themלְהִתְקְטָלָֽה׃ פle.hit.ke.ta.LahH6992.
14Whenבֵּאדַ֣יִןbe.Da.yinH116Ariochלְאַרְי֕וֹךְle.'ar.YokhH746,the commanderרַב־rav-H7229of the king’sדִּ֣י מַלְכָּ֑אdi mal.Ka'H4430H1768guardטַבָּחַיָּ֖אta.ba.chai.Ya'H2877דִּ֚יdiH1768,went outנְפַ֣קne.FakH5312to executeלְקַטָּלָ֔הle.ka.ta.LahH6992the wise menלְחַכִּימֵ֖יle.cha.ki.MeiH2445of Babylonבָּבֶֽל׃ba.VelH895,Danielדָּנִיֵּ֗אלda.ni.YelH1841respondedהֲתִיב֙ha.TivH8421with discretionעֵטָ֣א'e.Ta'H5843and tactוּטְעֵ֔םu.te.'EmH2942.

16So Danielוְדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אלve.Da.ni.YelH1841went inעַ֖ל'alH5954and askedוּבְעָ֣ה מִן־u.ve.'Ah min-H1156H4481the kingמַלְכָּ֑א דִּ֚יmal.Ka' diH4430H1768to giveיִנְתֵּן־yin.ten-H5415himsome timeזְמָ֣ןze.ManH2166,so that he could giveלְהַֽחֲוָיָ֥הle.ha.cha.va.YahH2324himלְמַלְכָּֽא׃ פle.mal.Ka'H4430the interpretationוּפִשְׁרָ֖אu.fish.Ra'H6591.
