3They setוַיַּרְכִּ֜בוּvai.yar.Ki.vuH7392אֶת־'et-H853the arkאֲר֤וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430onאֶל־'el-H413a newחֲדָשָׁ֔הcha.da.ShahH2319cartעֲגָלָ֣ה'a.ga.LahH5699and brought itוַיִּשָּׂאֻ֔הוּvai.yi.sa.'U.huH5375from the houseמִבֵּ֥יתmi.BeitH1004of Abinadabאֲבִינָדָ֖ב'a.vi.na.DavH41,whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834was on the hillבַּגִּבְעָ֑הba.giv.'AhH1389.Uzzahוְעֻזָּ֣אve.'u.Za'H5798and Ahioוְאַחְי֗וֹve.'ach.YoH283,the sonsבְּנֵי֙be.NeiH1121of Abinadabאֲבִ֣ינָדָ֔ב'a.Vi.na.DavH41,were guidingנֹהֲגִ֖יםno.ha.GimH5090אֶת־'et-H853the newחֲדָשָֽׁה׃cha.da.ShahH2319cartהָעֲגָלָ֥הha.'a.ga.LahH5699,

5Davidוְדָוִ֣ד׀ve.da.VidH1732and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478were celebratingמְשַֽׂחֲקִים֙me.sa.cha.KimH7832beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068with all kindsבְּכֹ֖לbe.KholH3605of wood instrumentsעֲצֵ֣י בְרוֹשִׁ֑ים'a.Tzei ve.ro.ShimH6086 H1265,harpsוּבְכִנֹּר֤וֹתu.ve.khi.no.RotH3658,stringed instrumentsוּבִנְבָלִים֙u.vin.va.LimH5035,tambourinesוּבְתֻפִּ֔יםu.ve.tu.PimH8596,sistrumsוּבִמְנַֽעַנְעִ֖יםu.vim.na.'an.'ImH4517,and cymbalsוּֽבְצֶלְצֶלִֽים׃U.ve.tzel.tze.LimH6767.

6When they cameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935toעַד־'ad-H5704the threshing floorגֹּ֣רֶןGo.renH1637of Naconנָכ֑וֹןna.KhonH5225,Uzzahעֻזָּ֜א'u.Za'H5798reached outוַיִּשְׁלַ֨חvai.yish.LachH7971אֶל־'el-H413and took holdוַיֹּ֣אחֶזvai.Yo.chezH270ofthe arkאֲר֤וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430,becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588the oxenהַבָּקָֽר׃ha.ba.KarH1241had stumbledשָׁמְט֖וּsha.me.TuH8058.

7And the angerאַ֤ף'afH639of the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068burnedוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734against Uzzahבְּעֻזָּ֔הbe.'u.ZahH5798,and Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430struck him downוַיַּכֵּ֥הוּvai.ya.Ke.huH5221on the spotשָׁ֛םshamH8033forעַל־'al-H5921his irreverenceהַשַּׁ֑לha.ShalH7944,and he diedוַיָּ֣מָתvai.Ya.motH4191thereשָׁ֔םShamH8033besideעִ֖ם'imH5973the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430.

8Then Davidלְדָוִ֔דle.da.VidH1732became angryוַיִּ֣חַרvai.Yi.charH2734becauseעַל֩'alH5921אֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the LORDיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068had burst forthפָּרַ֧ץ פֶּ֖רֶץpa.Ratz Pe.retzH6555 H6556against Uzzahבְּעֻזָּ֑הbe.'u.ZahH5798.So he namedוַיִּקְרָ֞אvai.yik.Ra'H7121thatהַהוּא֙ha.Hu'H1931placeלַמָּק֤וֹםla.ma.KomH4725Perez-uzzahH6560,as it is called toעַ֖ד'adH5704thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

10So heדָוִ֗דda.VidH1732was unwillingוְלֹֽא־ אָבָ֣הve.lo'- 'a.VahH3808 H14to moveלְהָסִ֥יר אֵלָ֛יוle.ha.Sir 'e.LavH5493 H413אֶת־'et-H853the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068toעַל־'al-H5921the Cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of Davidדָּוִ֑דda.VidH1732;instead, he tookדָוִ֔דda.VidH1732it asideוַיַּטֵּ֣הוּvai.ya.Te.huH5186to the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Obed-edomH5654the Gittiteהַגִּתִּֽי׃ha.gi.TiH1663.

11Thus the arkאֲר֨וֹן'a.RonH727of the LORDיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068remainedוַיֵּשֶׁב֩vai.ye.ShevH3427in the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Obed-edomH5654the Gittiteהַגִּתִּ֖יha.gi.TiH1663for threeשְׁלֹשָׁ֣הshe.lo.ShahH7969monthsחֳדָשִׁ֑יםcho.da.ShimH2320,and the LORDיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068אֶת־'et-H853blessedוַיְבָ֧רֶךְvay.Va.rekhH1288himH5654וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and allכָּל־kol-H3605his householdבֵּיתֽוֹ׃bei.ToH1004.

12Now it was reportedוַיֻּגַּ֗דvai.yu.GadH5046to Kingלַמֶּ֣לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428Davidדָּוִד֮ לֵאמֹר֒da.Vid le.MorH1732 H559, “The LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068אֶת־'et-H853has blessedבֵּרַ֣ךְbe.RakhH1288the houseבֵּ֨יתbeitH1004of Obed-edomH5654andוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853allכָּל־kol-H3605thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834belongs to him,because ofבַּעֲב֖וּרba.'a.VurH5668the arkאֲר֣וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםha.'E.lo.HimH430.”So Davidדָּוִ֗דda.VidH1732wentוַיֵּ֣לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980and had the arkאֲר֨וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֜יםha.'E.lo.HimH430brought upוַיַּעַל֩vai.ya.'AlH5927אֶת־'et-H853from the houseמִבֵּ֨יתmi.BeitH1004of Obed-edomH5654into the Cityעִ֥יר'irH5892of Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732with rejoicingבְּשִׂמְחָֽה׃be.sim.ChahH8057.
