4וַ֠תֹּאמֶרVa.to.merH559When the womanהָאִשָּׁ֤הha.'i.ShahH802from Tekoaהַתְּקֹעִית֙ha.te.ko.'ItH8621wenttoאֶל־'el-H413the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,she fellוַתִּפֹּ֧לva.ti.PolH5307facedownעַל־ אַפֶּ֛יהָ אַ֖רְצָה'al- 'a.Pei.ha 'Ar.tzahH5921 H639 H776in homageוַתִּשְׁתָּ֑חוּva.tish.Ta.chuH7812and saidוַתֹּ֖אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Help meהוֹשִׁ֥עָהho.Shi.'ahH3467,O kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ סha.Me.lekhH4428!”

5“Whatמַה־mah-H4100troubles you?”the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428askedוַיֹּֽאמֶר־vai.yo.mer-H559her. “Indeedאֲבָ֛ל'a.ValH61,”she saidוַתֹּ֗אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Iאָ֖נִי'A.niH589ama widowאִשָּֽׁה־ אַלְמָנָ֥ה'i.shah- 'al.ma.NahH802 H490,for my husbandאִישִֽׁי׃'i.ShiH376is deadוַיָּ֥מָתvai.Ya.motH4191.

6And your maidservantוּלְשִׁפְחָֽתְךָ֙u.le.shif.cha.te.KhaH8198had twoשְׁנֵ֣יshe.NeiH8147sonsבָנִ֔יםva.NimH1121whoשְׁנֵיהֶם֙she.nei.HemH8147were fightingוַיִּנָּצ֤וּvai.yi.na.TzuH5327in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֔הba.sa.DehH7704with noוְאֵ֥יןve.'EinH369one to separateמַצִּ֖ילma.TzilH5337themבֵּֽינֵיהֶ֑םbei.nei.HemH996,and oneהָאֶחָ֛דha.'e.ChadH259אֶת־'et-H853struckוַיַּכּ֧וֹvai.ya.KoH5221the otherהָאֶחָ֖דha.'e.ChadH259and killedוַיָּ֥מֶתvai.Ya.metH4191himאֹתֽוֹ׃'o.ToH853.

7Nowוְהִנֵּה֩ve.hi.NehH2009the wholeכָֽל־khol-H3605clanהַמִּשְׁפָּחָ֜הha.mish.pa.ChahH4940has risen upקָ֨מָהKa.mahH6965againstעַל־'al-H5921your maidservantשִׁפְחָתֶ֗ךָshif.cha.Te.khaH8198and saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, ‘Hand overתְּנִ֣י׀te.NiH5414אֶת־'et-H853the one who struck downמַכֵּ֣הma.KehH5221his brotherאָחִ֗יו'a.ChivH251,that we may put him to deathוּנְמִתֵ֙הוּ֙u.ne.mi.Te.huH4191for the lifeבְּנֶ֤פֶשׁbe.Ne.feshH5315of the brotherאָחִיו֙'a.ChivH251whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834he killedהָרָ֔גha.RagH2026.Then we will cut offוְנַשְׁמִ֖ידָהve.nash.Mi.dahH8045אֶת־'et-H853the heirהַיּוֹרֵ֑שׁhai.yo.ReshH3423as wellגַּ֣םgamH1571!’So they would extinguishוְכִבּ֗וּve.khi.BuH3518אֶת־'et-H853my one remainingנִשְׁאָ֔רָהnish.'A.rahH7604emberגַּֽחַלְתִּי֙ga.chal.TiH1513אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834by notלְבִלְתִּ֧יle.vil.TiH1115preservingשִׂיםsom-H7760my husband’sלְאִישִׁ֛יle.'i.ShiH376nameשֵׁ֥םshemH8034or posterityוּשְׁאֵרִ֖יתu.she.'e.RitH7611onעַל־ פְּנֵ֥י'al- pe.NeiH5921 H6440the earthהָאֲדָמָֽה׃ פha.'a.da.MahH127.”
