3“As youאַתָּ֨ה'a.TahH859are well awareיָדַ֜עְתָּya.Da'.taH3045אֶת־'et-H853,due toמִפְּנֵ֥יmi.pe.NeiH6440the wars wagedהַמִּלְחָמָ֖הha.mil.cha.MahH4421אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834on all sidesסְבָבֻ֑הוּse.va.Vu.huH5437against my fatherאָבִ֗י'a.ViH1כִּ֣יkiH3588Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732,he couldיָכֹל֙ya.KholH3201notלֹ֤אlo'H3808buildלִבְנ֣וֹתliv.NotH1129a houseבַּ֗יִתBa.yitH1004for the Nameלְשֵׁם֙le.ShemH8034of the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068his Godאֱלֹהָ֔יו'e.lo.HavH430untilעַ֤ד'adH5704the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068אֹתָ֔ם'o.TamH853had putתֵּת־tet-H5414his enemies underתַּ֖חַתTa.chatH8478his feetכַּפּ֥וֹת רַגְלָֽי׃ka.Pot rag.liH3709 H7272.

4But nowוְעַתָּ֕הve.'a.TahH6258the LORDיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068my Godאֱלֹהַ֛י'e.lo.HaiH430has given me restהֵנִ֨יחַhe.Ni.achH5117on every sideH5439,and there is noאֵ֣ין'einH369adversaryשָׂטָ֔ן וְאֵ֖יןsa.Tan ve.'EinH7854 H369or crisisפֶּ֥גַע רָֽע׃Pe.ga' Ra'H6294 H7451.

5So beholdוְהִנְנִ֣יve.hi.NiH2005,I planאֹמֵ֔ר'o.MerH559to buildלִבְנ֣וֹתliv.NotH1129a houseבַּ֔יִתBa.yitH1004for the Nameלְשֵׁ֖םle.ShemH8034of the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068my Godאֱלֹהָ֑י'e.lo.HaiH430,according to whatכַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ka.'a.SherH834the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068saidדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696toאֶל־'El-H413my fatherאָבִי֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר'a.Vi le.MorH1 H559Davidדָּוִ֤דda.VidH1732: ‘I will putאֶתֵּ֤ן'e.TenH5414your sonבִּנְךָ֗bin.KhaH1121אֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834onעַל־'al-H5921your throneכִּסְאֶ֔ךָkis.'E.khaH3678in your placeH8478,and heהֽוּא־hu'-H1931will buildיִבְנֶ֥הyiv.NehH1129the houseהַבַּ֖יִתha.Ba.yitH1004for My Nameלִשְׁמִֽי׃lish.MiH8034.’

6Now thereforeוְעַתָּ֡הve.'a.TahH6258,orderצַוֵּה֩tza.VehH6680that cedarsאֲרָזִ֜ים'a.ra.ZimH730ofמִן־min-H4480Lebanonהַלְּבָנ֗וֹןha.le.va.NonH3844be cut downוְיִכְרְתוּ־ve.yikh.re.tu-H3772for me.My servantsוַֽעֲבָדַי֙va.'a.va.DaiH5650will beH1961withעִם־'im-H5973your servantsעֲבָדֶ֔יךָ'a.va.Dei.khaH5650,and I will payאֶתֵּ֣ן'e.TenH5414yourservantsעֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙'a.va.Dei.khaH5650whatever wagesוּשְׂכַ֤ר כְּכֹ֖לu.se.Khar ke.KholH7939 H3605אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834you setתֹּאמֵ֑רto.MerH559,forכִּ֣י׀kiH3588youאַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH859knowיָדַ֗עְתָּya.Da'.taH3045thatכִּ֣יkiH3588there arenoneאֵ֥ין'einH369אִ֛ישׁ'ishH376among usas skilledיֹדֵ֥עַyo.De.a'H3045in loggingלִכְרָת־ עֵצִ֖יםlikh.rot- 'e.TzimH3772 H6086as the Sidoniansכַּצִּדֹנִֽים׃ka.tzi.do.NimH6722.”

7וַיְהִ֞יvay.HiH1961When Hiramחִירָ֛םchi.RamH2438H853receivedכִּשְׁמֹ֧עַkish.Mo.a'H8085Solomon’sH8010messageH1697,he rejoicedוַיִּשְׂמַ֣חvai.yis.MachH8055greatlyמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Blessedבָּר֤וּךְba.RukhH1288bethe LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068this dayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117!Heאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834has givenנָתַ֤ןna.TanH5414Davidלְדָוִד֙le.da.VidH1732a wiseחָכָ֔םcha.KhamH2450sonבֵּ֣ןbenH1121overעַל־'al-H5921thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088greatהָרָ֖בha.RavH7227peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971!”

8Then Hiramחִירָם֙chi.RamH2438sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971a reply toH413Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֣הshe.lo.MohH8010,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559: “I have receivedשָׁמַ֕עְתִּיsha.Ma'.tiH8085אֵ֥ת'etH853your messageשָׁלַ֖חְתָּsha.Lach.taH834 H7971 H413;Iאֲנִ֤י'a.NiH589will doאֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙'e.'e.SehH6213אֶת־'et-H853allכָּל־kol-H3605you desireחֶפְצְךָ֔chef.tze.KhaH2656regarding the cedarבַּעֲצֵ֥י אֲרָזִ֖יםba.'a.Tzei 'a.ra.ZimH730 H6086and cypressבְרוֹשִֽׁים׃ve.ro.ShimH1265timberוּבַעֲצֵ֥יu.va.'a.TzeiH6086.

9My servantsעֲ֠בָדַי'A.va.daiH5650will haul the logsיֹרִ֨דוּyo.Ri.duH3381fromמִן־min-H4480Lebanonהַלְּבָנ֜וֹןha.le.va.NonH3844to the SeaH3220,and Iוַ֠אֲנִיVa.'a.niH589will float themאֲשִׂימֵ֨ם'a.si.MemH7760as raftsדֹּבְר֤וֹתdoe.RotH1702by seaH3220toעַֽד־'ad-H5704the placeהַמָּק֞וֹםha.ma.KomH4725H834you specifyתִּשְׁלַ֥ח אֵלַ֛יtish.Lach 'e.LaiH7971 H413.Thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033I will separateוְנִפַּצְתִּ֥יםve.ni.patz.TimH5310the logs,and youוְאַתָּ֣הve.'a.TahH859can take them awayתִשָּׂ֑אti.Sa'H5375.And in exchange, youוְאַתָּה֙ve.'a.TahH859can meetתַּעֲשֶׂ֣הta.'a.SehH6213אֶת־'et-H853my needsחֶפְצִ֔יchef.TziH2656by providingH5414my householdבֵּיתִֽי׃bei.TiH1004with foodלֶ֥חֶםLe.chemH3899.”
