Ezra 8:21-30
21Then I proclaimedH7121 a fastH6685 there, at the riverH5104 AhavaH163, that we might humble ourselves before our GodH430, to seekH1245 of him a straightH3477 wayH1870 for us, and for our littleH2945 onesH2945, and for all our substance. 22For I was ashamedH954 to askH7592 of the kingH4428 a band of soldiers and horsemenH6571 to helpH5826 us against the enemyH341 in the wayH1870, because we had spoken unto the kingH4428, sayingH559, The handH3027 of our GodH430 is upon all them that seekH1245 him, for goodH2896; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsakeH5800 him. 23So we fastedH6684 and besought our GodH430 for this: and he was entreatedH6279 of us.
24Then I setH914 apartH914 twelve of the chiefsH8269 of the priestsH3548, even SherebiahH8274, HashabiahH2811, and tenH6235 of their brethren with them, 25and weighedH8254 unto them the silverH3701, and the goldH2091, and the vesselsH3627, even the offering for the houseH1004 of our GodH430, which the kingH4428, and his counsellors, and his princesH8269, and all IsraelH3478 there present, had offeredH7311: 26I weighedH8254 into their handH3027 sixH8337 hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572 talentsH3603 of silverH3701, and silverH3701 vesselsH3627 a hundredH3967 talentsH3603; of goldH2091 a hundredH3967 talentsH3603; 27and twentyH6242 bowlsH3713 of goldH2091, of a thousandH505 daricsH150; and twoH8147 vesselsH3627 of fine bright brass, preciousH2532 as goldH2091. 28And I saidH559 unto them, Ye are holyH6944 unto Jehovah, and the vesselsH3627 are holyH6944; and the silverH3701 and the goldH2091 are a freewill-offering unto Jehovah, the GodH430 of your fathersH1. 29WatchH8104 ye, and keepH8104 them, until ye weighH8254 them before the chiefsH8269 of the priestsH3548 and the LevitesH3881, and the princesH8269 of the fathers’H1 housesH1004 of IsraelH3478, at JerusalemH3389, in the chambers of the houseH1004 of Jehovah. 30So the priestsH3548 and the LevitesH3881 received the weightH4948 of the silverH3701 and the goldH2091, and the vesselsH3627, to bringH935 them to JerusalemH3389 unto the houseH1004 of our GodH430.
