Amos 5:18-27
18WoeH1945 unto you that desireH183 the dayH3117 of Jehovah! Wherefore would ye have the dayH3117 of Jehovah? It is darknessH2822, and not lightH216. 19As if a manH376 did fleeH5127 from a lionH738, and a bearH1677 metH6293 him; or wentH935 into the houseH1004 and leanedH5564 his handH3027 on the wallH7023, and a serpent bit him. 20Shall not the dayH3117 of Jehovah be darknessH2822, and not lightH216? even very dark, and no brightnessH5051 in it?
21I hateH8130, I despise your feastsH2282, and I will take no delight in your solemnH6116 assembliesH6116. 22Yea, though ye offerH5927 me your burnt-offerings and meal-offerings, I will not acceptH7521 them; neither will I regard the peace-offerings of your fat beasts. 23Take thou awayH5493 from me the noiseH1995 of thy songsH7892; for I will not hearH8085 the melody of thy viols. 24But let justiceH4941 rollH1556 down as watersH4325, and righteousnessH6666 as a mighty stream.
25Did ye bringH5066 unto me sacrificesH2077 and offeringsH4503 in the wildernessH4057 fortyH705 yearsH8141, O houseH1004 of IsraelH3478? 26Yea, ye have borneH5375 the tabernacle of your king and the shrine of your imagesH6754, the starH3556 of your godH430, which ye madeH6213 to yourselves. 27Therefore will I cause you to goH1540 into captivity beyond DamascusH1834, saith Jehovah, whose nameH8034 is the GodH430 of hostsH6635.
