Revised Version 1895
Jeremiah 22:1-9
ThusH3541 saidH559 the LORDH3068: GoH3381 downH3381 to the houseH1004 of the kingH4428 of JudahH3063, and speakH1696 there this wordH1697,
And sayH559, HearH8085 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, O kingH4428 of JudahH3063, that sittest uponH5921 the throneH3678 of DavidH1732, thou, and thy servantsH5650, and thy peopleH5971 that enterH935 in by theseH428 gatesH8179.
ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068: Execute ye judgmentH4941 and righteousnessH6666, and deliverH5337 the spoiled outH8210 of the handH3027 of the oppressorH3238: and doH6213 noH408 wrongH3238, doH6213 noH408 violenceH2554, to the strangerH1616, the fatherlessH3490, norH408 the widowH490, neitherH408 shedH8210 innocentH5355 bloodH1818 in this placeH4725.
For ifH518 ye doH6213 this thingH1697 indeedH3588, then shall there enterH935 in by the gatesH8179 of this houseH1004 kingsH4428 sittingH3427 uponH5921 the throneH3678 of DavidH1732, ridingH7392 in chariotsH7393 and on horsesH5483, he, and his servantsH5650, and his peopleH5971.
But ifH518 ye will notH3808 hearH8085 theseH428 wordsH1697, I swearH7650 by myself, saith the LORDH3068, that this houseH1004 shall becomeH1961 a desolationH2723.
For thusH3541 saith the LORDH3068 concerning the houseH1004 of the kingH4428 of JudahH3063: Thou art GileadH1568 unto meH5921, and the headH7218 of LebanonH3844: yet surelyH3588 I will makeH7896 thee a wildernessH4057, and citiesH5892 whichH1004 are notH3808 inhabitedH3427.
And I will prepareH6942 destroyersH7843 againstH5921 thee, everyH376 one with his weaponsH3627: and they shall cutH3772 downH5307 thy choiceH4005 cedarsH730, and castH5307 them intoH5921 the fireH784.
And manyH7227 nationsH1471 shall passH5674 by this cityH5892, and they shall sayH559 everyH376 manH376 to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORDH3068 doneH6213 thusH3602 unto this greatH1419 cityH5892?
Then they shall answerH559, BecauseH5921 they forsook the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068 their GodH430, and worshipped otherH312 godsH430, and servedH5647 them.
