Deuteronomy 11
Revised Version 1895
1Therefore thou shalt loveH157 the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, and keepH8104 his chargeH4931, and his statutesH2708, and his judgmentsH4941, and his commandmentsH4687, alway. 2And knowH3045 ye this dayH3117: for I speak notH3808 with your childrenH1121 whichH834 have notH3808 knownH3045, and whichH834 have notH3808 seenH7200 the chastisement of the LORDH3068 your GodH430, his greatnessH1433, his mightyH2389 handH3027, and his stretchedH5186 outH5186 armH2220, 3and his signsH226, and his worksH4639, whichH834 he didH6213 in the midstH8432 of EgyptH4714 unto PharaohH6547 the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, and unto allH3605 his landH776; 4and whatH834 he didH6213 unto the armyH2428 of EgyptH4714, unto their horsesH5483, and to their chariotsH7393; howH834 he madeH6213 the waterH4325 of the Red SeaH3220 to overflow them as they pursuedH7291 afterH310 youH834, and howH834 the LORDH3068 hath destroyedH6 them unto this dayH3117; 5and whatH834 he didH6213 unto youH834 in the wildernessH4057, untilH5704 ye cameH935 unto this placeH4725; 6and whatH834 he didH6213 unto DathanH1885 and AbiramH48, the sonsH1121 of EliabH446, the sonH1121 of ReubenH7205; howH834 the earthH776 openedH6475 herH3605 mouthH6310, and swallowedH1104 them upH1104, and their householdsH1004, and their tentsH168, and everyH3605 livingH3351 thingH3351 that followedH7272 them, in the midstH7130 of allH3605 IsraelH3478: 7but your eyesH5869 have seenH7200 allH3605 the greatH1419 workH4639 of the LORDH3068 whichH834 he didH6213. 8Therefore shall ye keepH8104 allH3605 the commandmentH4687 whichH834 I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, that ye may be strongH2388, and goH935 in and possessH3423 the landH776, whither ye goH935 over to possessH3423 it; 9and that ye may prolongH748 your daysH3117 uponH5921 the landH776, whichH834 the LORDH3068 sware unto your fathersH1 to giveH5414 unto them and to their seedH2233, a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706. 10For the landH776, whither thou goest in to possessH3423 it, is notH3808 as the landH776 of EgyptH4714, from whence ye cameH935 outH3318, whereH834 thou sowedst thy seedH2233, and wateredst it with thy footH7272, as a gardenH1588 of herbs: 11but the landH776, whither ye goH935 over to possessH3423 it, is a landH776 of hillsH2022 and valleysH1237, and drinketh waterH4325 of the rainH4306 of heavenH8064: 12a landH776 whichH834 the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 careth for; the eyesH5869 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 are alwaysH8548 upon it, from the beginningH7225 of the yearH8141 evenH5704 unto the endH319 of the yearH8141. 13And it shall comeH1961 to passH1961, ifH518 ye shall hearken diligentlyH8085 unto my commandmentsH4687 whichH834 I commandH6680 youH834 this dayH3117, to loveH157 the LORDH3068 your GodH430, and to serveH5647 him with allH3605 your heartH3824 and with allH3605 your soulH5315, 14that I will giveH5414 the rainH4306 of your landH776 in itsH5414 seasonH6256, the former rainH4306 and the latterH4456 rainH4306, that thou mayest gatherH622 in thy corn, and thy wineH8492, and thine oilH3323. 15And I will giveH5414 grassH6212 in thy fieldsH7704 for thy cattleH929, and thou shalt eatH398 and be fullH7646. 16TakeH5493 heedH8104 to yourselves, lestH6435 your heartH3824 be deceived, and ye turnH5493 asideH5493, and serveH5647 otherH312 godsH430, and worshipH7812 them; 17and the angerH639 of the LORDH3068 be kindledH2734 againstH5921 youH834, and he shutH6113 upH5921 the heavenH8064, that there be noH3808 rainH4306, and that the landH776 yieldH5414 notH3808 herH5921 fruitH2981; and ye perishH6 quicklyH4120 from offH5921 the goodH2896 landH776 whichH834 the LORDH3068 giveth youH834. 18Therefore shall ye layH7760 upH5921 theseH428 my wordsH1697 in your heartH3824 and in your soulH5315; and ye shall bindH7194 them for a signH226 uponH5921 your handH3027, and they shall be for frontlets betweenH996 your eyesH5869. 19And ye shall teachH3925 them your childrenH1121, talkingH1696 of them, when thou sittest in thine houseH1004, and when thou walkest by the wayH1870, and when thou liest downH7901, and when thou risest upH6965. 20And thou shalt writeH3789 them uponH5921 the doorH4201 postsH4201 of thine houseH1004, and uponH5921 thy gatesH8179: 21that your daysH3117 may be multipliedH7235, and the daysH3117 of your childrenH1121, uponH5921 the landH776 whichH834 the LORDH3068 sware unto your fathersH1 to giveH5414 them, as the daysH3117 of the heavensH8064 aboveH5921 the earthH776. 22For ifH518 ye shall diligentlyH8104 keepH8104 allH3605 this commandmentH4687 whichH834 I commandH6680 youH834, to doH6213 it; to loveH157 the LORDH3068 your GodH430, to walkH1870 in allH3605 his waysH1870, and to cleave unto him; 23then will the LORDH3068 driveH3423 outH4480 allH3605 theseH428 nationsH1471 from beforeH6440 youH3605, and ye shall possessH3423 nationsH1471 greaterH1419 and mightierH6099 thanH4480 yourselves. 24EveryH3605 placeH4725 whereon the soleH3709 of your footH7272 shall treadH1869 shall be yours: from the wildernessH4057, and LebanonH3844, from the riverH5104, the riverH5104 EuphratesH6578, evenH5704 unto the hinder seaH3220 shall be your borderH1366. 25There shall noH3808 manH376 be able to standH3320 beforeH6440 youH834: the LORDH3068 your GodH430 shall layH5414 the fearH6343 of youH834 and the dreadH6343 of youH834 uponH5921 allH3605 the landH776 that ye shall treadH1869 uponH5921, as he hath spokenH1696 unto youH834. 26BeholdH7200, I setH5414 beforeH6440 youH5414 this dayH3117 a blessingH1293 and a curseH7045; 27the blessingH1293, ifH834 ye shall hearken unto the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068 your GodH430, whichH834 I commandH6680 youH834 this dayH3117: 28and the curseH7045, ifH518 ye shall notH3808 hearken unto the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068 your GodH430, but turnH5493 asideH5493 outH4480 of the wayH1870 whichH834 I commandH6680 youH834 this dayH3117, to goH5493 afterH310 otherH312 godsH430, whichH834 ye have notH3808 knownH3045. 29And it shall comeH935 to passH935, when the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 shall bringH935 thee intoH413 the landH776 whither thou goest to possessH3423 it, that thou shalt setH5414 the blessingH1293 uponH5921 mountH2022 GerizimH1630, and the curseH7045 uponH5921 mountH2022 EbalH5858. 30Are they notH3808 beyondH5676 JordanH3383, behindH310 the wayH1870 of the going downH3427 of the sunH8121, in the landH776 of the CanaanitesH3669 which dwellH3427 in the ArabahH6160, over againstH4136 GilgalH1537, besideH681 the oaksH436 of MorehH4176? 31For ye are to passH5674 over JordanH3383 to goH935 in to possessH3423 the landH776 whichH834 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 giveth youH859, and ye shall possessH3423 it, and dwellH3427 therein. 32And ye shall observeH8104 to doH6213 allH3605 the statutesH2706 and the judgmentsH4941 whichH834 I setH5414 beforeH6440 youH834 this dayH3117.
