Samuel 8:1-7

And it cameH1961 to passH1961, when SamuelH8050 was oldH1121, that he madeH7760 his sonsH1121 judgesH8199 over IsraelH3478.

NowH1961 the nameH8034 of his firstbornH1060 was JoelH3100; and the nameH8034 of his secondH4932, AbijahH29: they were judgesH8199 in Beer-sheba.

And his sonsH1121 walkedH1980 notH3808 in his waysH1870, but turnedH5186 asideH5186 afterH310 lucre, and tookH3947 bribesH7810, and pervertedH5186 judgmentH4941.

Then allH3605 the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478 gatheredH6908 themselvesH6908 togetherH6908, and cameH935 to SamuelH8050 unto RamahH7414:

and they saidH559 unto him, BeholdH2009, thou art oldH1121, and thy sonsH1121 walkH1980 notH3808 in thy waysH1870: nowH6258 makeH7760 usH413 a kingH4428 to judgeH8199 usH413 like allH3605 the nationsH1471.

But the thingH1697 displeasedH7489 SamuelH8050; when they saidH559, GiveH5414 usH5414 a kingH4428 to judgeH8199 usH5414. And SamuelH8050 prayedH6419 unto the LORDH3068.

And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto SamuelH8050, Hearken unto the voiceH6963 of the peopleH5971 in allH3605 that they sayH559 unto thee: for they have notH3808 rejectedH3988 thee, but they have rejectedH3988 meH413, that I should notH3808 be kingH4427 over them.
