Revised Version 1895
Samuel 5:2-7
And the PhilistinesH6430 tookH3947 the arkH727 of GodH430, and broughtH935 it intoH935 the houseH1004 of DagonH1712, and setH935 it by DagonH1712.
And when they of AshdodH796 aroseH7925 earlyH7925 on the morrow, beholdH2009, DagonH1712 was fallenH5307 uponH5307 his faceH6440 to the groundH776 beforeH6440 the arkH727 of the LORDH3068. And they tookH3947 DagonH1712, and setH7725 him in his placeH4725 againH7725.
And when they aroseH7925 earlyH7925 on the morrow morningH1242, beholdH2009, DagonH1712 was fallenH5307 uponH5921 his faceH6440 to the groundH776 beforeH6440 the arkH727 of the LORDH3068; and the headH7218 of DagonH1712 and bothH8147 the palmsH3709 of his handsH3027 layH5307 cutH3772 offH3772 uponH5921 the thresholdH4670; onlyH7535 the stump of DagonH1712 was leftH7604 to him.
Therefore neitherH3808 the priestsH3548 of DagonH1712, norH3808 anyH3605 that comeH935 intoH935 Dagon’sH1712 houseH1004, treadH1869 on the thresholdH4670 of DagonH1712 in AshdodH795, unto this dayH3117.
But the handH3027 of the LORDH3068 was heavyH3513 uponH413 them of AshdodH795, and he destroyedH5221 them, and smoteH5221 them with tumours, evenH853 AshdodH795 and the bordersH1366 thereof.
And when the menH376 of AshdodH795 sawH7200 that it was soH3651, they saidH559, The arkH727 of the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 shall notH3808 abideH3427 with usH5921: for his handH3027 is sore uponH5921 as, and uponH5921 DagonH1712 our godH430.
