Samuel 18:1-9

And it cameH1961 to passH1961, when he had madeH1696 an endH3615 of speakingH1696 unto SaulH7586, that the soulH5315 of JonathanH3083 was knitH7194 with the soulH5315 of DavidH1732, and JonathanH3083 lovedH157 him as his ownH1961 soulH5315.

And SaulH7586 tookH3947 him that dayH3117, and would letH5414 him goH7725 noH3808 moreH3808 homeH1004 to his father’sH1 houseH1004.

Then JonathanH3083 and DavidH1732 madeH3772 a covenantH1285, because he loved him as his ownH5315 soulH5315.

And JonathanH3083 strippedH6584 himself of the robeH4598 that was uponH5921 him, and gaveH5414 it to DavidH1732, and his apparel, evenH5704 to his swordH2719, and to his bowH7198, and to his girdle.

And DavidH1732 wentH3318 outH3318 whithersoever SaulH7586 sentH7971 him, and behaved himselfH376 wisely: and SaulH7586 setH7760 him over the menH376 of warH4421, and it was goodH3190 in the sightH5869 of allH3605 the peopleH5971, and also in the sightH5869 of Saul’sH7586 servantsH5650.

And it cameH935 to passH935 as they cameH935, when DavidH1732 returnedH7725 from the slaughterH5221 of the PhilistineH6430, that the womenH802 cameH935 outH3318 of allH3605 the citiesH5892 of IsraelH3478, singingH7891 and dancingH4246, to meetH7122 kingH4428 SaulH7586, with timbrelsH8596, with joyH8057, and with instruments of music.

And the womenH802 sang one to anotherH802 in their playH7832, and saidH559, SaulH7586 hath slainH5221 his thousandsH505, and DavidH1732 his tenH7233 thousandsH505.

And SaulH7586 was veryH3966 wroth, and this sayingH559 displeasedH7489 him; and he saidH559, They have ascribedH5414 unto DavidH1732 tenH7233 thousandsH505, and to meH5414 they have ascribedH5414 but thousandsH505: and whatH1697 canH5869 he have moreH5750 but the kingdomH4410?

And SaulH7586 eyed DavidH1732 from that dayH3117 and forwardH1973.
