Samuel 17:32-50

And DavidH1732 saidH559 to SaulH7586, LetH408 noH408 man’sH120 heartH3820 failH5307 becauseH5921 of him; thy servantH5650 will goH5307 and fightH3898 with this PhilistineH6430.

And SaulH7586 saidH559 to DavidH1732, Thou art notH3808 ableH3201 to go againstH413 this PhilistineH6430 to fightH3898 with him: for thou art but a youthH5271, and he a manH376 of warH4421 from his youthH5271.

And DavidH1732 saidH559 unto SaulH7586, Thy servantH5650 kept his father’sH1 sheepH6629; and when there cameH935 a lionH738, or a bearH5375, and tookH5375 a lambH7716 outH413 of the flockH6629,

I wentH3318 outH3318 afterH310 him, and smoteH5221 him, and deliveredH5337 it outH3318 of his mouthH6310: and when he aroseH6965 againstH5921 meH5921, I caughtH2388 him by his beardH2206, and smoteH5221 him, and slewH5221 him.

Thy servantH5650 smoteH5221 bothH1571 the lionH738 and the bearH1677: and this uncircumcisedH6189 PhilistineH6430 shall be as one of them, seeingH3588 he hath defied the armiesH4634 of the livingH2416 GodH430.

And DavidH1732 saidH559, The LORDH3068 that deliveredH5337 meH413 outH413 of the pawH3027 of the lionH738, and outH413 of the pawH3027 of the bearH1677, he will deliverH5337 meH413 outH413 of the handH3027 of this PhilistineH6430. And SaulH7586 saidH559 unto DavidH1732, GoH1961, and the LORDH3068 shall be with thee.

And SaulH7586 clad DavidH1732 with his apparelH3847, and he putH5414 an helmetH6959 of brassH5178 uponH5921 his headH7218, and he clad him with a coat of mail.

And DavidH1732 girdedH2296 his swordH2719 uponH5921 his apparel, and he assayed to goH5493; for he had notH3808 provedH5254 it. And DavidH1732 saidH559 unto SaulH7586, I cannotH3808 goH5493 with theseH428; for I have notH3808 provedH5254 them. And DavidH1732 putH5493 them offH5921 him.

And he tookH3947 his staffH4731 in his handH3027, and choseH977 him fiveH2568 smoothH2512 stonesH68 outH4480 of the brookH5158, and putH7760 them in the shepherd’s bagH3627 whichH834 he had, evenH853 in his scrip; and his sling was in his handH3027: and he drewH5066 nearH5066 to the PhilistineH6430.

And the PhilistineH6430 cameH1980 on and drewH1980 nearH6440 unto DavidH1732; and the manH376 that bare the shieldH6793 wentH1980 beforeH6440 him.

And when the PhilistineH6430 lookedH7200 aboutH1961, and sawH7200 DavidH1732, he disdainedH959 him: for he was but a youthH5288, and ruddyH132, and withal of a fairH3303 countenance.

And the PhilistineH6430 saidH559 unto DavidH1732, Am I a dogH3611, that thou comest to meH413 with staves? And the PhilistineH6430 cursedH7043 DavidH1732 by his godsH430.

And the PhilistineH6430 saidH559 to DavidH1732, Come to meH413, and I will giveH5414 thy fleshH1320 unto the fowls of the air, and to the beastsH929 of the fieldH7704.

Then saidH559 DavidH1732 to the PhilistineH6430, Thou comest to meH413 with a swordH2719, and with a spearH2595, and with a javelinH3591: but I comeH935 to thee in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of the armiesH6635 of IsraelH3478, whichH834 thou hast defied.

This dayH3117 will the LORDH3068 deliverH5414 thee intoH5921 mine handH3027; and I will smiteH5221 thee, and takeH5493 thine headH7218 from offH5921 thee; and I will giveH5414 the carcases of the hostH4264 of the PhilistinesH6430 this dayH3117 unto the fowls of the air, and to the wildH776 beastsH2416 of the earthH776; that allH3605 the earthH776 may knowH3045 that there is a GodH430 in IsraelH3478:

and that allH3605 this assemblyH6951 may knowH3045 that the LORDH3068 saveth notH3808 with swordH2719 and spearH2595: for the battleH4421 is the LORD’SH3068, and he will giveH5414 youH3588 intoH3027 our handH3027.

And it cameH1961 to passH1961, when the PhilistineH6430 aroseH6965, and cameH1961 and drewH7126 nigh to meetH7122 DavidH1732, that DavidH1732 hastenedH4116, and ranH7323 towardH7122 the armyH4634 to meetH7122 the PhilistineH6430.

And DavidH1732 putH7971 his handH3027 in his bagH3627, and tookH3947 thence a stoneH68, and slang it, and smoteH5221 the PhilistineH6430 in his foreheadH4696; and the stoneH68 sankH2883 intoH413 his foreheadH4696, and he fellH5307 uponH5921 his faceH6440 to the earthH776.

SoH4480 DavidH1732 prevailedH2388 over the PhilistineH6430 with a sling and with a stoneH68, and smoteH5221 the PhilistineH6430, and slewH5221 him; but there was noH369 swordH2719 in the handH3027 of DavidH1732.
