1Hearשִׁמְעוּ־shim.'u-H8085ye this, O priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֜יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548;and hearkenוְהַקְשִׁ֣יבוּ׀ve.hak.Shi.vuH7181,ye houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478;and give ye earהַאֲזִ֔ינוּha.'a.Zi.nuH238,O houseוּבֵ֤יתu.VeitH1004of the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428;for judgmentהַמִּשְׁפָּ֑טha.mish.PatH4941istoward you, because ye have been a snareפַח֙fachH6341on Mizpahלְמִצְפָּ֔הle.mitz.PahH4709,and a netוְרֶ֖שֶׁתve.Re.shetH7568spreadפְּרוּשָׂ֥הpe.ru.SahH6566upon Taborתָּבֽוֹר׃ta.VorH8396.

2And the revoltersשֵׂטִ֖יםse.TimH7846are profoundהֶעְמִ֑יקוּhe'.Mi.kuH6009to make slaughterוְשַׁחֲטָ֥הve.sha.cha.TahH7819, though I have beena rebukerמוּסָ֥רmu.SarH4148of them all.

3I knowיָדַ֣עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045Ephraimאֶפְרַ֔יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669,and Israelוְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478is not hidנִכְחַ֣דnikh.ChadH3582from me: for now, O Ephraimאֶפְרַ֔יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669,thou committest whoredomהִזְנֵ֣יתָhiz.Nei.taH2181, andIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478is defiledנִטְמָ֖אnit.Ma'H2930.

4They will not frameיִתְּנוּ֙yi.te.NuH5414their doingsמַ֣עַלְלֵיהֶ֔םma.'a.lei.HemH4611to turnלָשׁ֖וּבla.ShuvH7725unto their Godאֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430:for the spiritר֤וּחַRu.achH7307of whoredomsזְנוּנִים֙ze.nu.NimH2183isin the midstבְּקִרְבָּ֔םbe.kir.BamH7130of them, and they have not knownיָדָֽעוּ׃ya.Da.'uH3045Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068.

5And the prideגְאֽוֹן־ge.'on-H1347of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478doth testifyוְעָנָ֥הve.'a.NahH6030to his faceבְּפָנָ֑יוbe.fa.NavH6440:therefore shall Israelוְיִשְׂרָאֵ֣לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478and Ephraimוְאֶפְרַ֗יִםve.'ef.Ra.yimH669fallיִכָּֽשְׁלוּ֙yi.ka.she.LuH3782in their iniquityבַּעֲוֹנָ֔םba.'a.vo.NamH5771;Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063also shall fallכָּשַׁ֥לka.ShalH3782with them.

6They shall goH3212with their flocksבְּצֹאנָ֣םbe.tzo.NamH6629and with their herdsוּבִבְקָרָ֗םu.viv.ka.RamH1241to seekלְבַקֵּ֥שׁle.va.KeshH1245Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068;but they shall not findיִמְצָ֑אוּyim.Tza.'uH4672him;he hath withdrawnחָלַ֖ץcha.LatzH2502himself from them.

7They have dealt treacherouslyבָּגָ֔דוּba.Ga.duH898against Yhwhבַּיהוָ֣הba.Yah.wehH3068:for they have begottenיָלָ֑דוּya.La.duH3205strangeזָרִ֖יםza.RimH2114childrenבָנִ֥יםva.NimH1121:now shall the new moon חֹ֖דֶשׁCho.deshH2320devourיֹאכְלֵ֥םyokh.LemH398them with their portionsחֶלְקֵיהֶֽם׃ סchel.kei.HemH2506.

8Blowתִּקְע֤וּtik.'UH8628ye the cornetשׁוֹפָר֙sho.FarH7782in Gibeahבַּגִּבְעָ֔הba.giv.'AhH1390, andthe trumpetחֲצֹצְרָ֖הcha.tzo.tze.RahH2689in Ramahבָּרָמָ֑הba.ra.MahH7414:cry aloudהָרִ֙יעוּ֙ha.Ri.'uH7321atBeth–avenH1007,afterאַחֲרֶ֖יךָ'a.cha.Rei.khaH310thee, O Benjaminבִּנְיָמִֽין׃bin.ya.MinH1144.

9Ephraimאֶפְרַ֙יִם֙'ef.Ra.yimH669shall be desolateלְשַׁמָּ֣הle.sha.MahH8047in the dayבְּי֖וֹםbe.YomH3117of rebukeתּֽוֹכֵחָ֑הto.khe.ChahH8433:among the tribesבְּשִׁבְטֵי֙be.shiv.TeiH7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478have I made knownהוֹדַ֖עְתִּיho.Da'.tiH3045that which shall surely beנֶאֱמָנָֽה׃ne.'e.ma.NahH539.

10The princesשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063were like them that removeכְּמַסִּיגֵ֖יke.ma.si.GeiH5253the boundגְּב֑וּלge.VulH1366: thereforeI will pour outאֶשְׁפּ֥וֹךְ'esh.PokhH8210my wrathעֶבְרָתִֽי׃'ev.ra.TiH5678upon them like waterכַּמַּ֖יִםka.Ma.yimH4325.

11Ephraimאֶפְרַ֖יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669isoppressedעָשׁ֥וּק'a.ShukH6231andbrokenרְצ֣וּץre.TzutzH7533in judgmentמִשְׁפָּ֑טmish.PatH4941,because he willinglyהוֹאִ֔ילho.'IlH2974walkedהָלַ֖ךְha.LakhH1980afterאַחֲרֵי־'a.cha.rei-H310the commandmentצָֽו׃TzavH6673.

12Therefore will I beunto Ephraimלְאֶפְרָ֑יִםle.'ef.Ra.yimH669as a mothכָעָ֖שׁkha.'AshH6211,and to the houseלְבֵ֥יתle.VeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063as rottennessוְכָרָקָ֖בve.kha.ra.KavH7538.

13When Ephraimאֶפְרַ֜יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669sawוַיַּ֨רְאvai.Yar'H7200his sicknessחָלְי֗וֹchal.YoH2483,and Judahוִֽיהוּדָה֙vi.hu.DahH3063sawhis woundמְזֹר֔וֹme.zo.RoH4205,then wentH3212Ephraimאֶפְרַ֙יִם֙'ef.Ra.yimH669to the Assyrianאַשּׁ֔וּר'a.ShurH804,and sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֖חvai.yish.LachH7971to kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428Jarebיָרֵ֑בya.RevH7378 H3377:yet couldיוּכַל֙yu.KhalH3201he not healלִרְפֹּ֣אlir.Po'H7495you, nor cureיִגְהֶ֥הyig.HehH1455you of your woundמָזֽוֹר׃ma.ZorH4205.

14For I will beunto Ephraimלְאֶפְרַ֔יִםle.'ef.Ra.yimH669as a lionכַשַּׁ֙חַל֙kha.Sha.chalH7826,and as a young lionוְכַכְּפִ֖ירve.kha.ke.FirH3715to the houseלְבֵ֣יתle.VeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063: I, evenI, will tearאֶטְרֹף֙'et.RofH2963and go awayH3212;I will take awayאֶשָּׂ֖א'e.Sa'H5375,and none shall rescueמַצִּֽיל׃ma.TzilH5337him.

15I will goH3212andreturnאָשׁ֙וּבָה֙'a.Shu.vahH7725to my placeמְקוֹמִ֔יme.ko.MiH4725,till they acknowledge their offenceיֶאְשְׁמ֖וּye'.she.MuH816,and seekוּבִקְשׁ֣וּu.vik.ShuH1245my faceפָנָ֑יfa.NaiH6440:in their afflictionבַּצַּ֥רba.TzarH6862they will seek me earlyיְשַׁחֲרֻֽנְנִי׃ye.sha.cha.Ru.niH7836.
