8But Danielדָּנִיֵּאל֙da.ni.yeLH1840purposedוַיָּ֤שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760in his heartלִבּ֔וֹli.BoH3820that he would not defileיִתְגָּאַ֛לyit.ga.'AlH1351himself with the portionH6598of the king’sהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428meatH6598,nor with the wineוּבְיֵ֣יןu.ve.YeinH3196which he drankמִשְׁתָּ֑יוmish.TavH4960:therefore he requestedוַיְבַקֵּשׁ֙vay.va.KeshH1245of the princeמִשַּׂ֣רmi.SarH8269of the eunuchsהַסָּרִיסִ֔יםha.sa.ri.SimH5631that he might not defileיִתְגָּאָֽל׃yit.ga.'AlH1351himself.

9Now Godהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430had broughtוַיִּתֵּ֤ןvai.yi.TenH5414Danielדָּ֣נִיֵּ֔אלda.ni.YelH1840into favourלְחֶ֖סֶדle.Che.sedH2617and tender loveוּֽלְרַחֲמִ֑יםu.le.ra.cha.MimH7356withלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440the princeשַׂ֥רsarH8269of the eunuchsהַסָּרִיסִֽים׃ha.sa.ri.SimH5631.

11Then saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559Danielדָּנִיֵּ֖אלda.ni.YelH1840to Melzarהַמֶּלְצַ֑רha.mel.TzarH4453,whom the princeשַׂ֣רsarH8269of the eunuchsהַסָּֽרִיסִ֔יםha.sa.ri.SimH5631had setמִנָּה֙mi.NahH4487over Danielדָּנִיֵּ֣אלda.ni.YelH1840,Hananiahחֲנַנְיָ֔הcha.nan.YahH2608,Mishaelמִֽישָׁאֵ֖לmi.sha.'ElH4332,and Azariahוַעֲזַרְיָֽה׃va.'a.zar.YahH5838,

12Proveנַס־nas-H5254thy servantsעֲבָדֶ֖יךָ'a.va.Dei.khaH5650,I beseech thee, tenעֲשָׂרָ֑ה'a.sa.RahH6235daysיָמִ֣יםya.MimH3117;and let them giveוְיִתְּנוּ־ve.yi.te.nu-H5414us pulseהַזֵּרֹעִ֛יםha.ze.ro.'ImH2235to eatוְנֹאכְלָ֖הve.no.khe.LahH398,and waterוּמַ֥יִםu.Ma.yimH4325to drinkוְנִשְׁתֶּֽה׃ve.nish.TehH8354.

13Then let our countenancesמַרְאֵ֔ינוּmar.'Ei.nuH4758be looked uponוְיֵרָא֤וּve.ye.ra.'UH7200beforeלְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙le.fa.Nei.khaH6440thee, and the countenanceוּמַרְאֵה֙u.mar.'EhH4758of the childrenהַיְלָדִ֔יםhay.la.DimH3206that eatהָאֹ֣כְלִ֔יםha.'O.khe.LimH398of the portionH6598of the king’sהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428meatH6598:and as thou seestתִּרְאֵ֔הtir.'EhH7200,dealעֲשֵׂ֖ה'a.SehH6213with thy servantsעֲבָדֶֽיךָ׃'a.va.Dei.khaH5650.
