5He trustedבָּטָ֑חba.TachH982in Yhwhבַּיהוָ֥הba.Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478;so that afterוְאַחֲרָ֞יוve.'a.cha.RavH310him was none like him among all the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063, nor anythat were beforeלְפָנָֽיו׃le.fa.NavH6440him.

6For he claveוַיִּדְבַּק֙vai.yid.BakH1692to Yhwhבַּֽיהוָ֔הba.Yah.wehH3068, anddepartedסָ֖רsarH5493not from followingמֵאַֽחֲרָ֑יוme.'a.cha.RavH310him, but keptוַיִּשְׁמֹר֙vai.yish.MorH8104his commandmentsמִצְוֹתָ֔יוmitz.vo.TavH4687,which Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

7And Yhwhיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068was with him; andhe prosperedיַשְׂכִּ֑ילyas.KilH7919whithersoever he went forthיֵצֵ֖אye.Tze'H3318:and he rebelledוַיִּמְרֹ֥דvai.yim.RodH4775against the kingבְּמֶֽלֶךְ־be.Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֖וּר'a.ShurH804,and servedעֲבָדֽוֹ׃a.va.DoH5647him not.

8He smoteהִכָּ֧הhi.KahH5221the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֛יםpe.lish.TimH6430, evenunto Gazaעַזָּ֖ה'a.ZahH5804,and the bordersגְּבוּלֶ֑יהָge.vu.Lei.haH1366thereof, from the towerמִמִּגְדַּ֥לmi.mig.DalH4026of the watchmenנוֹצְרִ֖יםnotz.RimH5341to the fencedמִבְצָֽר׃ פmiv.TzarH4013cityעִ֥יר'irH5892.

9And it came to pass in the fourthהָֽרְבִיעִית֙ha.re.vi.'ItH7243yearבַּשָּׁנָ֤הba.sha.NahH8141of kingלַמֶּ֣לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֔הוּchiz.ki.Ya.huH2396, which wasthe seventhהַשְּׁבִיעִ֔יתha.she.vi.'ItH7637yearהַשָּׁנָ֣הha.sha.NahH8141of Hosheaלְהוֹשֵׁ֥עַle.ho.She.a'H1954sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Elahאֵלָ֖ה'e.LahH425kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478, thatShalmaneserשַׁלְמַנְאֶ֧סֶרshal.man.'E.serH8022kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֛וּר'a.ShurH804came upעָלָ֞ה'a.LahH5927against Samariaשֹׁמְר֖וֹןsho.me.RonH8111,and besiegedוַיָּ֥צַרvai.Ya.tzarH6696it.

10And at the endמִקְצֵה֙mik.TzehH7097of threeשָׁלֹ֣שׁsha.LoshH7969yearsשָׁנִ֔יםsha.NimH8141they tookוַֽיִּלְכְּדֻ֗הָvai.yil.ke.Du.haH3920it: evenin the sixthשֵׁ֖שׁsheshH8337yearבִּשְׁנַת־bish.nat-H8141of Hezekiahלְחִזְקִיָּ֑הle.chiz.ki.YahH2396, that isthe ninthתֵּ֗שַׁעTe.sha'H8672yearשְׁנַת־she.nat-H8141of Hosheaלְהוֹשֵׁ֙עַ֙le.ho.She.a'H1954kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,Samariaשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃sho.me.RonH8111was takenנִלְכְּדָ֖הnil.ke.DahH3920.

11And the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֛וּר'a.ShurH804did carry awayוַיֶּ֧גֶלvai.Ye.gelH1540Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478unto Assyriaאַשּׁ֑וּרָה'a.Shu.rahH804,and putוַיַּנְחֵ֞םvai.yan.ChemH5148them in Halahבַּחְלַ֧חbach.LachH2477and in Haborוּבְחָב֛וֹרu.ve.cha.VorH2249bythe riverנְהַ֥רne.HarH5104of Gozanגּוֹזָ֖ןgo.ZanH1470,and in the citiesוְעָרֵ֥יve.'a.ReiH5892of the Medesמָדָֽי׃ma.DaiH4074:

12Because they obeyedשָׁמְע֗וּsha.me.'UH8085not the voiceבְּקוֹל֙be.kOlH6963of Yhwhיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068their Godאֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430,but transgressedוַיַּעַבְרוּ֙vai.ya.'av.RuH5674his covenantבְּרִית֔וֹbe.ri.ToH1285, andall that Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872the servantעֶ֣בֶד'E.vedH5650of Yhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֔הtzi.VahH6680,and would not hearשָׁמְע֖וּsha.me.'UH8085them,nor doעָשֽׂוּ׃ פ'a.SuH6213them.

15And Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֔הchiz.ki.YahH2396gaveוַיִּתֵּן֙vai.yi.TenH5414himall the silverהַכֶּ֖סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701that was foundהַנִּמְצָ֣אha.nim.Tza'H4672in the houseבֵית־veit-H1004of Yhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and in the treasuresוּבְאֹצְר֖וֹתu.ve.'o.tze.RotH214of the king’sהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004.

16At that timeבָּעֵ֣תba.'EtH6256did Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֜הchiz.ki.YahH2396cut offקִצַּ֨ץki.TzatzH7112the gold fromthe doorsדַּלְת֨וֹתdal.TotH1817of the templeהֵיכַ֤לhei.KhalH1964of Yhwhיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068, and fromthe pillarsהָאֹ֣מְנ֔וֹתha.'O.me.NotH547which Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֖הchiz.ki.YahH2396kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063had overlaidצִפָּ֔הtzi.PahH6823,and gaveוַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖םvai.yi.te.NemH5414it to the kingלְמֶ֥לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428of Assyriaאַשּֽׁוּר׃ פ'a.ShurH804.

20Thou sayestאָמַ֙רְתָּ֙'a.Mar.taH559, (but they are butvainשְׂפָתַ֔יִםse.fa.Ta.yimH8193wordsדְּבַר־de.var-H1697,) I havecounselעֵצָ֥ה'e.TzahH6098and strengthוּגְבוּרָ֖הu.ge.vu.RahH1369for the warלַמִּלְחָמָ֑הla.mil.cha.MahH4421.Now on whom dost thou trustבָטַ֔חְתָּva.Tach.taH982,that thou rebellestמָרַ֖דְתָּma.Rad.taH4775against me?
